Candela Shaders
A cool shaderpack made by a 13yo with a trash pc, for the HackCraft event that runs better than Complimentary (I use a GTX 1060 6GB, btw, so i know what it is like to have a trash PC)
Features
- Colored, translucent shadows: Colored transparent block hae colored shadows! (this is just from the lumen guide so not so special.), BUT, it also has shadow blur u can customise!
- Full day/night cycle: There are independent brightness settings for each time of the day, and for each dimension!
- Bloom: Gaussian based blur which u can customise horizontally AND ertically seperately (keep the bloom x value higher for a cool camera smudge effect :3 )
- Godrays: The cool shafts of light from the sun, I have used a different method to create them, see credits for more.
- Waving foliage and water: Its not even special, every shader has this
- Depth-based outlines: Very cool block outlines! See credits for more
- Liminal vibe(kinda): I was listening to "Six Forty Seven" by Instupendo while making this, so i decided to add a pink tone similar to those liminal spaces videos!
Installation
- Requires Iris Shaders for Minecraft (Fabric), obviously.
- Download the shaderpack, as of now, it is only available on the Github Releases Page, hopefully it will get approved my modrinth soon, but god knows
- Drop the
.zipfile in your.minecraft/shaderpacks/directory. - Select Candela Shaders from the Iris shader selection screen.
- Open Shader Pack Settings to edit the settings as you wish.
Performance
This is a rather performant shader having better FPS with reasonable settings than other shaders like Complimentary or BSL Lite. I was even ble to push the settings a little higher than other shaders on my diapidated GTX 1060!
Credits
- Lumen (Hack Club): This is a HackCraft submission, so I did use their Lumen shader guide to help me build the fundamental features, but I also took help of
- Iris Shaders Documentation: for other thigs like waving foliage and water, shader settings, the correct folder structure, etc. And when my code didn't work, I just looked at my favourite shader:
- Super Duper Vanilla: When in doubt, i just checked what Super Duper Vanilla did, I also kind of gave up on making the outlines myself so they are from this shader. It is also my fav shader so u should check it out!
- IGoByLotsOfNames: In a specific video he shares a method to make godrays efficiently, without any lag. see the video, its a great watch!
- Ascipixi's shader template:Due to issues with git, I had to create a new repo and abandon the original fork but, u should check it out nevertheless! And finally,
- You, for downloading and trying this shader. It is my 1st shader so I hope you like it!
