🌌 Aurora Shaders
An atmospheric shader for Minecraft Java Edition focused on mood, glowing light effects and maximum customization. Almost everything can be toggled and tuned live in-game.

Lighting & Shadows
- Soft dynamic shadows from the sun and moon
- Ambient light that follows the sky color
- Warm torch light (color selectable)
- Emissive blocks (lava, glowstone, lanterns, …) with bloom
Sky & Atmosphere
- Procedural sky with sunrises and sunsets
- Stars, moonlight and a moody rain look
- Haze that matches the sky color
- Aurora borealis in 4 color variants
Nature & Water
- Waving grass and leaves (shadows follow the motion)
- Animated water waves
- Sky reflections and sun glints on water
- 4 water colors: Clear Blue, Turquoise, Swamp, Deep Sea
Post Processing
- Tonemapping: ACES, Reinhard, Filmic
- Exposure, saturation, contrast and color grading presets
- Smooth bloom, vignette, film grain, chromatic aberration

A dedicated Extras tab sits at the top of the shader settings:

Low · Medium · High · Ultra. Every option can still be adjusted individually afterwards.
📦 Installation
- Install Iris or OptiFine
- Put the ZIP file unextracted into your
shaderpacksfolder - In-game: Options → Video Settings → Shaders → Aurora Shaders
- Open Shader Settings to tweak everything (Extras are at the top ★)
💡 Tips
- Too bright? Lower the bloom strength or turn bloom off (right in the main menu)
- Too dark? Enable Night Vision or raise the minimum brightness
- Low FPS? Use the Low profile or reduce the shadow resolution
