Echo Mod

A Fabric 1.21.1 only (Currently) mod that adds echolocation to Minecraft. With integration of Simple Voice Chat.

How does it work?

• The world gets entirely black and you won't be able to see anything that doesn't make sound, it includes many of the blocks of the game
• To see, you have to make a sound, and outlines will appear around the sound's source, the outline strenght is a variable that depends on how loud the noise was.

Commands

• /echoloc toggle <targets>
• /echoloc on <targets>
• /echoloc off <targets>
• /echoloc true|false <targets>

Requires level 2 operator benefits, aka /op.

Instalation and Dependencies

Install in the client and server:

• Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer
• Fabric API for Minecraft 1.21.1
• Echo Mod

Incompatibilities

The only mods that I registered incompatibility is:

• Iris Shader

Unfortunately, no shaders for now.

Now for the Simple Voice Chat integration, the louder your audio is, the more you will be able to see.

Simple Voice Chat, Sodium and Sodium Extra are opitional but recommended due to the lag some things can make and it may run poorly on old PCs.

Optimization is always welcome.

Story of this mod (For the ones that need to know)

I made that mod using Codex, which is vibe coding, I made this mod trying to make a feature on a server the fast as possible without knowing how to code and then I ended up with something that I liked so much that I decided to properly publish this on Modrinth :3
