Turn your live stream into a village. Every gift builds a house.
LiveVillages is a NeoForge mod that grows a village in real time from the gifts your viewers send you on a live stream. Each donation places a house, moves in a villager named after the donor, and wires the new home into the town with a real road, a lamp post and a sign. Nothing is pre-built: the town grows organically, house by house, while your audience watches.
Built for TikTok LIVE, and usable by hand even without a live running.
Works in single-player and on a dedicated server alike — the connection just lives in
whichever player's client runs /lv tiktok connect, so that player needs the mod
installed. For a version where the connection runs on the server itself (no client
install for anyone), see the LiveVillages plugin for Paper servers, on
Hangar,
Modrinth or
SpigotMC.
Two Minecraft versions, one mod. LiveVillages is published for both 1.21.1 and 26.x. Grab the file tagged for the version you run — CurseForge separates them so you never install the wrong one. If you're upgrading an existing 1.21.1 world to 26.x, your villages come with you automatically: the mod finds and migrates them the first time you load the world, no extra steps.
Platform status: TikTok LIVE is the only platform connected right now. YouTube Live and Twitch support is in development. In the meantime, the manual commands already work with any source of events — including those two.
How it works
There are two ways to place houses, and they both go through the same door in the code, so they behave identically:
- By hand — you (or an authorized moderator) run a command:
/lv house addfor a quick placement, or/lv house donateto simulate a specific gift and let the mod pick the house. Great for testing, giveaways, and for rewarding people outside the stream. - Connected to TikTok LIVE —
/lv tiktok connect <username> <village>listens to your live and places a house every time a gift arrives. YouTube and Twitch are on the roadmap.
The mod decides which house a gift builds from a configurable gift table, so a small gift gives a small house and a money gun gives the good one.
Features
Organic town growth
- Houses are scattered around a central plaza with randomized angle and radius, and rejected if they land too close to another house, on water or lava, or on top of an existing road.
- Every plot is levelled to the true average ground height underneath it — trees, grass, snow and water are ignored, so a house on a slope sits properly instead of floating or sinking.
Roads that actually make sense
- Paths are generated with A* pathfinding over a cost map, so roads bend around obstacles instead of bulldozing through them.
- Automatic terracing on slopes, bridges over water, lamp posts with hanging lanterns along the way, and decoration.
Nothing is destructive
- Every house records the previous state of every block it changed. Removing a house restores the terrain exactly as it was, in reverse order.
Multiple villages
- Create as many towns as you want, mark one as active, open and close them to new arrivals, rename, teleport to, regenerate or delete them independently.
House styles you can extend without recompiling
- Houses are
.nbtstructures grouped into skins (a theme) and models (a tier). The catalog lives in a JSON config file, so you can add your own builds — plaza, houses, lamp post — and map them to gift tiers yourself.
Villager management
- Each house gets its own villager with a workstation and a sign carrying the donor's name.
Villager AI can be paused per village (useful during a long stream), and a revive command
brings back anyone who died.
/lv house regeneratereuses the existing villager instead of spawning a duplicate, and keeps their assigned profession instead of re-rolling it.
Built-in GUI
/lv guiopens an in-game catalog of every command with a form for each one, so you don't have to memorize the syntax mid-stream.
Permissions
- Three levels: admin, authorized users (by UUID, granted in-game), and everyone else. Hand a moderator the controls without handing them your server.
Localization
- Fully translated into English and Spanish. Every player sees the mod in their own Minecraft language setting.
Requirements
Pick the file that matches your Minecraft version — CurseForge tags each download, so the app installs the right one automatically.
| Minecraft | NeoForge | Java |
|---|---|---|
| 1.21.1 | 21.1.x | 21 |
| 26.x | 26.1.x | 25 |
- For the TikTok LIVE connection only: the companion library mod (listed as a dependency — the CurseForge app installs and updates it for you). Manual placement works without it.

Configuration
Two JSON files are created in your config/ folder on first run and can be reloaded live
with /lv reload:
livevillage-regalos.json— the gift-to-house table.livevillage-modelos.json— the catalog of skins and house models.
A broken JSON file never takes the server down: the mod warns and keeps the previous values.
Notes
- Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. TikTok is a trademark of its respective owner and is referenced here only to describe what the mod connects to.
- The live connection relies on a third-party, unofficial library (TikTokLiveJava by jwdeveloper, MIT). It is not an official API, so it can break temporarily when the platform changes something. Manual placement is unaffected.
- If you run a public or paid server, you are responsible for making sure how you reward donors complies with the Minecraft Usage Guidelines. This mod is a building tool; how you use it is on you.
Support
LiveVillages is free. If it's useful to you and you'd like to help keep it going, you can leave a tip here: paypal.me/josstv77. Completely optional — the mod isn't gated behind it in any way.
