A softer kind of Minecraft
Chunky threads. Familiar colors. A world woven from wool.
Appleweave gives Minecraft’s standard visual textures a cozy woven finish. Each original pixel becomes a crossing of one thick horizontal strand and one thick vertical strand, alternating over and under its neighbors. Fine fibers, rounded highlights and soft shadows keep the cloth detailed up close while preserving the original texture’s palette and recognizable shapes.
Wool, everywhere
- Blocks and building materials: grass, stone, wood, ores and more receive the same interlaced weave.
- Mobs, items and food: animal skins, entity textures, tools and the humble apple join the woolen world.
- The finishing touches: GUI artwork, particles, paintings and animated textures carry the woven treatment too.
- Visible without shaders: the color textures already include the fiber detail and shaded thread relief.
This edition targets the standard vanilla visual assets in Minecraft Java 26.1.2. Textures added by other mods and optional built-in alternative art packs are outside this release. Numerical color lookup images remain vanilla so biome tinting and palette data keep working.
More colors. More character.

From jewel tones to warm wood, these six building materials show how the chunky weave keeps each block’s character.

Extra depth with Iris + Complementary
Supported world-surface textures include LabPBR 1.3 normal, ambient-occlusion, height and cloth material data, generated from the same yarn geometry as the color texture. Compatible shaders can add lighting and apparent thread relief.
- Install Iris and select Complementary Reimagined or Unbound.
- In Shader Pack Settings, set RP Support → labPBR (RP Required).
- Under Material Settings → Custom PBR, enable POM for parallax relief.
Shader settings and render passes affect the result. Terrain, entities and held items may display different material effects. Parallax changes the apparent surface; it does not change block silhouettes. Shader packs are downloaded separately.
Install in a minute
- Download the Appleweave ZIP for Java 26.1.2.
- Open Options → Resource Packs → Open Pack Folder.
- Drop the ZIP into that folder, return to Minecraft and activate Appleweave above other texture packs.
- Disable older Mc Woolen editions to avoid overlapping resources.
Keep the ZIP intact—no installer is needed.
Release notes
1.0.0 · 256× baseline · Java 26.1.2
Standard 16×16 block textures become 256×256. Larger textures retain their proportions; some large images and armor trims use lower scaling to respect atlas limits. Animation timing and frame metadata are preserved. High-resolution textures and PBR atlases increase GPU memory use.
The release is checked for archive integrity and pixel equality with the audited woven build. An in-game shader test has not yet been independently verified.
