Chrom Visuals
Chrom Visuals is a client-side resource pack for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3+ that enhances the game’s visuals through a custom post-processing effect. It applies cinematic color grading, a subtle bloom, and a soft vignette to make your world look more vibrant and atmospheric — all while keeping performance in mind.
✨ Features
Vibrant colors – Boosts saturation and contrast for a richer look.
Cinematic tint – Warm highlights and cool shadows for a film-like feel.
Subtle bloom – Gentle glow on bright areas like the sun and torches.
Soft vignette – Darkens the edges slightly to focus on the center.
Optimized – Lightweight shader designed to minimize FPS impact.
Fully configurable – Adjust contrast, saturation, tint, and bloom in the JSON file.
📦 Installation
Download ChromVisuals.zip.
Place it in your Minecraft resourcepacks folder.
In-game, go to Options > Resource Packs and move Chrom Visuals to the Selected list.
Click Done.
🎮 Usage
The effect is applied with the /posteffect command. You need to be an operator (OP) or have cheats enabled.
Apply the shader:
/posteffect add @s chrom_visuals:optimized_shader
Remove effect:
/posteffect remove @s chrom_visuals:optimized_shader
Note: The effect stays active until you clear it or leave the world.
⚙️ Configuration
Open assets/chrom_visuals/post_effect/optimized_shader.json and find the line:
json "value": [1.05, 1.15, 0.8, 0.5] The four numbers control:
Contrast – default 1.05 (range: 1.0 – 1.3)
Saturation – default 1.15 (range: 1.0 – 1.4)
Cinematic Tint – default 0.8 (range: 0.0 – 1.0)
Bloom – default 0.5 (range: 0.0 – 1.0)
After editing, save the file and press F3 + T in-game to reload resources.
🧩 Compatibility
Client-side only – does not modify gameplay.
Works in singleplayer and multiplayer, but commands require OP permissions.
May not work on servers that force their own resource packs.
