Overview

The InterCity 225 is a high-speed electric push-pull train introduced by British Rail between 1989 and 1991 as part of the modernisation of the East Coast Main Line. Each set is made up of a Class 91 electric locomotive, nine Mark 4 coaches and a Driving Van Trailer (DVT). The locomotives were built by BREL at Crewe Works, while the coaches and DVTs were built by Metro-Cammell in Birmingham, with part of the order sub-contracted to Breda in Italy.

The train was designed for 140 mph (225 km/h), which gave it its name, but in regular service it is limited to 125 mph (201 km/h) because of signalling and infrastructure constraints. The Class 91 delivers around 4.7 MW (6,300 hp) at the rails, and on 17 September 1989 locomotive 91010 set the British electric locomotive speed record of 161.7 mph (260.2 km/h) on Stoke Bank.

In the standard formation, the locomotive is at the north end and the DVT at the London end, with nine Mark 4 coaches in between, originally offering 535 seats (406 Standard Class and 129 First Class). Over the years, the sets have carried the liveries of InterCity, GNER, National Express East Coast, East Coast, Virgin Trains East Coast and LNER.

InterCity 225 in Minecraft

This resource pack adds the complete InterCity 225 set to Minecraft through the Minecraft Transit Railway mod. The original models were created by cw_315 for Transport Fever 2 and ported to Minecraft by Vitor2005.

What's included

• Class 91 locomotive, with raised or lowered pantograph
• Mark 4 coaches: Standard Class, First Class and Bar, plus the Standard Class coach that runs next to the Class 91
