Using CTM Override you can enjoy connected textures without seeing Patrix incompatibility warnings caused by some mods (Physics Mod for example)

This is when you need the override

This occurs when CTM is enabled (!) but another mod is not CTM-compatible : the vanilla non-connected texture is displayed. Here : PhysicsMod handles the stone broken just a second ago, without using the CTM pipeline.
