**Programmer Art Preserved is an add-on Resource Pack designed to patch & update the original Programmer Art Texture Pack to make it compatible with the newest versions of Minecraft.
Unlike other similar resource packs, Programmer Art Preserved does not go for a Beta/Alpha aesthetic, but rather preserves and continues Programmer Art where it left off around 1.12-1.13.
So what does Programmer Art Preserved currently do exactly?**
-
Fixes wrong textures loading due to name changes.
-
Fixes things such as Villager, Zombie Villagers, and Horse Armor having broken textures due to new formating.
-
Adds Missing Programmer Art Textures such as various Ores, Nylium, Boats, Signs, Wood Types, Bucket Types, Suspicious Gravel/Sand,
-
Updates the Copper Ore texture to use the original Stone texture and a earlier snapshot style of Copper Ore to better fit the classic look of Minecraft.
-
Patches Programmer Art Villagers so they do not all have the unused Green Hood. (The Green Hood has now been added to the Nitwit's Clothes.)
-
Brings back the original Panoramic Background, and Splashes.
-
Color Matches various things such as Cod & Puffer Fish to match the original item textures.
** And some creative things such as:**
-
Zombie Pigmen styled Zombified Piglins. (It even has the THX XAPHOBIA text hidden in the texture again!)
-
A color transition from blue to purple for the REspawn Anchor cracks to better match Programmer Art's Texture.
-
Replaces the out of place looking Pitcher Pod with the Cyan Rose from Pocket Edition! (Grows from a small block of Pocket Edition's Grass. Starts as a Cyan Rose and eventually grows into a full Cyan Rose Bush.)
-
Adds a unqiue texture for Petrified Oak Slabs. (Uses the original wood texture from Notch's original test builds)
-
Renames some blocks/items such as the Cyan Rose Bush and Grimstone. (Grimstone actually did have a slightly different texture to Deeplslate originally.)
-
and Recolors / changes the textures of several other new blocks and items to better fix Programmer Art's style.

[Known issues]
The Panoramic Background is currently missing the blur effect due to 1.13 removing it. This can not currently be fixed with a simple resource pack as blurring the images in the texture would cause the blur effect to be very uneven.
Vexes & Bats use the new texture in 1.19.3-1.21+ for now. Changing this texture would make the pack incompatible with older versions.
The Title Logo is not the Programmer Art version in 1.20+ due to a reformating of the logo textures making a potential fix incompatible with older versions.
More updates are to come but I like to take some time to play with the new textures first to get a feel of how they could be made to fit with Programmer Art better. I hope you enjoy!
