Visual Armor Trims
FAQ
What is this?
Click for answer
This pack aims to give the armor trims unique textures in the GUI, just like they have while worn by an entity.
In vanilla all the armor trim items have the same texture, only with different colors. This means that in vanilla, you cannot distinguish between a netherite chestplate with a gold coast trim vs a netherite chestplate with a gold silence trim for example. The goal of this resource pack is to make that possible!
Below is a table of each of the new textures:
An example of how they compare to the entity:
How do I get it to work?
Click for answer
In order for you to get these wonderful textures, you will need client side mods.
Targeted mods/modpacks include:
- Fabulously Optimized (recommended)
- CIT Resewn
- Polytone
Neither Chime nor OptiFine are officially supported.
Here is a table of compatible Minecraft and mod versions.
Mod | 1.20.4 or below | 1.20.5-1.20.6 | 1.21 or above |
---|---|---|---|
CIT Resewn | v1.1 | not supported | v2.1 with CIT Resewn v1.2.1+1.21 or above |
OptiFine | v1.0 | not supported | not supported due to paletted_permutations * |
Polytone | not supported | not supported | v2.0 with Polytone v2.4.10 or above |
Chime | not supported | not supported | not supported |
*Paletted permutations is a vanilla feature that was introduced in 1.19.4 that breaks OptiFine CIT
On (Neo)Forge, if you want to use the CIT Resewn version, you may be able to use Sinytra Connector or Forge CIT, however I do not test with these configurations. Polytone should work fine with NeoForge.
Where is the CurseForge link?
Click for answer
I will not be hosting this pack on CurseForge due to:
- No Linux support for Minecraft in the CurseForge Launcher (despite both Minecraft and CurseForge having a Linux client)
- No option to create an account without linking other services
- The state that CurseForge is in
As a result, I do not condone the uploading of this resource pack to CurseForge and likely never will, however if you would like to use parts of this resource pack in something you create and upload to CurseForge, feel free!
