Twemoji Visibility
Twemoji Visibility is a resource pack for Minecraft: Java Edition that displays Twemoji emojis (the emojis Twitter and Discord uses) when they are pasted into the chat.
This resource pack wouldn't be possible without Androkai's AndrosDiscordEmojis resource pack, as this resource pack uses it as a base but is more up-to-date as it includes newer unicode emojis.
Do you enjoy this resource pack but would rather it use Microsoft's Fluent Emoji set? You can try FluentEmoji Visibility, which is the same as this resource pack but using Fluent Emoji.
Notes:
- If you are on a Windows computer, you can press WIN + . to activate the emoji menu. This allows you to paste emojis without having to go on a website.
- If you are using an emoji with skin tone, they will display the skin tone as a second emoji.
- This is a flaw with the game itself and cannot be fixed with a resource pack.
- This also affects some other emojis, such as 😶🌫️(Face in Clouds Emoji)
- If you are using the DiscordSRV plugin and have this as a server resource pack, make sure to change the
EmojiBehavior
toshow
in the config.yml file.- This changes all the default discord emojis to show in-game and not show the name of the emoji. This only works for built-in discord emojis, so server emojis won't be shown in game (but they will have their name like this: :emoji:)
Force Unicode
must be disabled in the Language settings on the client for the emojis to be visible.- If you want to paste emojis on signs, the color of the sign needs to be white.
- If you are using a mod or plugin to color individual parts of the sign, that also works.
- As of the Twemoji Visibility 1.2 update, the emojis no longer use the regular Twemoji repository. It has switched to an unofficial fork by jdecked. This is because Twitter fired the open-source Twemoji developers, so they created their own fork to continue. Discord also uses the new fork, so this resource pack switched to the new fork to maintain parity between Discord and Minecraft if using DiscordSRV for example.
- In 1.20 (23w17a), Mojang updated unifont. Basically, when a special unicode character (emoji) is pasted into the chat, it displays the unifont emoji standard. These emojis display on black text, unlike Twemoji. This is because the unifont emojis have transparency.
- This resource pack can increase load times, due to the large amount of textures.
- This resource pack originally was named "Twemojis In Minecraft" but it was changed to "Twemoji Visibility" because of the Minecraft EULA. Also, "Twemojis" is never officially used by the Twemoji developers, so calling it just "Twemoji" makes more sense.
