What does this resource package do?
This resource pack makes the graphics in Minecraft a little more vibrant without going overboard and without requiring any NVIDIA settings. It also does this by recoloring all the assets in Minecraft's textures. There are no filters or effects.
→ For this reason, it has no effect on the sky light, fog or textures from the mods you've added (like Better Clouds). VividVanilla supports versions 1.21 through 26.3. (With v1.3, it is now supported up to version 1.20.1)
♦ For a better experience, please download the latest version of the texture pack
Why is the resource pack 45 MB?
Because it includes the main menu panorama of every supported version. Your game only loads the one it needs.

Updates
✨ What's New in v1.6 (click to expand)
Calmer rain
Rain no longer tires your eyes. There are fewer drops, in a slightly lighter blue that stays close to vanilla, and they glide smoothly instead of hopping from pixel to pixel. On 26.2 and 26.3 the rain also falls a little slower. The splashes on the ground now match the color of the rain.

Softer snow
Snow keeps its vanilla flakes, but with far fewer of them, so a snowy biome feels peaceful rather than crowded. On 26.2 and 26.3 each flake also sways gently from side to side as it falls.

A vivid title screen
The main menu panorama now gets the VividVanilla colors too, on every supported version.

Warmer light
Torches, lanterns and other light sources now cast a slightly warmer glow, which makes caves and bases at night feel cozier.

Good to know
- The new look of the rain and snow works on every supported version, from 1.20.1 to 26.3. The slower rain and the swaying snow are only available on 26.2 and 26.3; older versions keep the vanilla motion.
- The warmer light works on 1.21.2 and newer. Minecraft doesn't record where light comes from, so every light source warms up the same way, including froglights and sea lantern
- The comparison images are enhanced so the differences are easier to see. The change is more subtle in game.
- If you use a shader pack with Iris or OptiFine, the shader pack may draw the sky, weather and lighting instead.
✨ What's New in v1.5 (click to expand)
A softer horizon
In v1.4 the richer sky ran all the way down to the horizon and met the pale haze in a hard line. Now the extra color fades out as the sky gets closer to the horizon. Up high it is just as vivid, and down low it blends into the distance as smoothly as vanilla.

The saturation of the birch wood was reduced
Birch wood had turned so yellow that it read like a different tree. It is now much calmer and closer to its natural pale tone, while still a little livelier than vanilla. End stone got the same treatment: no more sharp green, just a gentle, warmer cream.

A new End sky
The End keeps its dark, empty atmosphere, but the sky is no longer a flat haze. It is a little deeper and scattered with faint, distant stars.

Smooth End Explotions
The purple flashes in the End sky used to show big square pixels. They now glow smoothly, with a slightly richer purple.

Good to know
- Soft Horizon works on all supported versions from 1.20.1 through 26.3.
- End glows are only available in Minecraft 1.21.9 and newer versions; therefore, soft glow is applied in these versions.
- If you’re using a shader pack with Iris or OptiFine, the shader pack is rendered instead of the sky. However, you can use a texture pack to increase the saturation of water and blocks.

A more vivid sky
The daytime sky is now a deeper, richer blue. The horizon keeps its natural haze, so the sky still blends smoothly into the distance.

Brighter, twinkling stars
Night skies are no longer flat. Stars shine brighter, show up earlier at dusk, and each one slowly twinkles at its own pace.

More distinct lava
Even though the lava texture was changed in the previous version, the difference wasn't very noticeable compared to its appearance in the vanilla version. This issue was resolved by refining the flow animation.

Water Change
Because of the change in the sky, the water remained very blue. The saturation was reduced slightly.
Good to know
→ The sky and stars work in all supported versions from 1.20.1 through 26.3. Twinkling stars are available in versions 1.20.1–1.21.4 and 26.2–26.3; in other versions, brighter stars without the twinkling effect are displayed. This is due to changes in how stars are rendered in current versions. A corresponding adjustment was necessary for it to function properly.
→ If you are using a shader pack such as Iris or OptiFine, or a mod that modifies the sky, the resource pack may stop rendering. Please be aware of this when using it.
✨ What's New in v1.3 (click to expand)
More supported versions
The supported version of the source package has been lowered to 1.20.1
Lava Visuals and Animation
Minor adjustments were made to the lava's appearance to make it look better and more eye-catching.

Fuller, richer water
The water was made to look richer and smoother, while still remaining true to the look of vanilla Minecraft.

Connected textures
With Continuity, blocks such as glass, glass panels, bookshelves, and sandstone now blend seamlessly with VividVanilla’s color palette. Similarly, glass, bookshelves, and sandstone connected via Fusion + Midnighttigger’s FCT have also been made to match the pack’s colors. (Place VividVanilla on top of the FCT.)
