# el Flair of Death > ### Version 2.0 is out! el Flair of Death adds a few extra effects to player deaths. When a player is killed by another player, flame, skull and blood particles burst around the death location, along with a sound effect. Kills in a row also escalate the effect through three tiers: **Normal**, **Streak**, and **Rampage**. Get another kill within the timer window (1 minute by default) and the next death gets a stronger effect, with blue soul flames and skulls. Miss the window and it resets back to Normal. By default, the **Streak** effects require 2 kills and the **Rampage** effects - 5 kills. Both the timer and the kills threshold are configurable. Optional buffs can also be given to the killer on each tier (Regeneration and Resistance by default, also fully configurable). The idea is to give killing a player a bit more character and a little more flair. # Version 1.0 Video Showcase: # Installation & Configuration

Datapack installation

1. Download the `.zip` file; ### Singleplayer 2. Open your world folder (edit world -> open world folder) and put the `.zip` file into its `datapacks` folder; 3. Load the world. (If it is already open, run `/reload`) ### Server 1. Put the `.zip` into the `datapacks` folder inside your world folder (`world/datapacks` by default); 2. Run `/reload`.

## Commands **All commands require operator permissions. The easiest way to configure the pack is the in-game menu:** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/_open_menu ``` ## Primary settings

Kill timer

**Determines how much time you have after a kill to get another one before the tier resets.** To set in seconds: ``` /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/set_seconds {seconds:60} ``` To set in ticks: ``` /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/set_ticks {ticks:1200} ``` _Setting it to 0 effectively disables Streak/Rampage - kills will never escalate past Normal._

Kill thresholds

**Determines how many kills in a row are needed for the Streak and Rampage tiers.** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/set_streak_threshold {kills:3} /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/set_rampage_threshold {kills:5} ``` _The Rampage threshold can never be set below the Streak threshold (and vice versa) - it's clamped automatically._

Global sound (toggle)

**Toggles whether the kill sound effect plays for the whole server or only near the kill.** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:core/config/set_global_sound {state:1} ```

Enable buffs (toggle)

**Toggles the entire Buff system.** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/set_buffs_enabled {state:1} ```

Add buff

**Add (or update) a buff** on a tier's list. ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/add_buff {tier:1,effect:"minecraft:jump_boost",amplifier:1,duration:15} ```

Remove buff

**Remove a buff** from a tier's list ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/remove_buff {tier:1,effect:"minecraft:jump_boost"} ```

List buffs

**Shows the current buff list for one tier** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/list_buffs {tier:1} ```

Reset buffs

**Resets buffs to default (Regeneration + Resistance)** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/reset_buffs ``` | Tier | Default buffs | Duration | | :--- | :--- | --- | | `1` (Normal) | Regeneration II, Resistance I | 10 seconds both | | `2` (Streak) | Regeneration III, Resistance II | 10 seconds both | | `3` (Rampage) | Regeneration IV, Resistance III | 10 seconds both |

Clear buffs

**Clear all buffs from all tiers** ``` /function el_flair_of_death:buffs/config/clear_buffs ```

Uninstallation

Do these steps in this order: 1. Run `/function el_flair_of_death:core/uninstall`; 2. Delete the `.zip` file from the `datapacks` folder.

Notes & troubleshooting

- Effects and buffs only trigger when a player is killed by another player. - The kill timer only counts down while the player is online. If you encountered any issues with this data pack, feel free to dm me on Discord - [Elitra_mz](https://discordapp.com/users/835522009689227264)
