Ambrum is a datapack for Minecraft 26.3
(Do not load this datapack into an existing world unless you want world generation to change.)
This datapack is still a work in progress. Expect bugs of many kinds
This datapack is inspired by the creations of Raspberry Flavour and Matcha Flavor. But also by my experiences with many servers with custom content.
Ambrum datapack overhauls survival mode by adding quality-of-life recipes and expanding Minecraft's pre-existing features. Ambrum also adds its own features to spice things up.
For the full experience, install these mods. Be careful what you remove or don't like. It might ruin your experience, or not. Mod collection
Another mod I personally suggest for immersion (CurseForge Link) Cinematic Interactions
What Ambrum does
-
Ambrum by default turns off natural regeneration. Meaning that you will no longer receive health through saturation.
-
In place of that. Ambrum allows foods to possess potion effects. All foods provide Regeneration II. Raw or rotten is an exception.
-
Ambrum is not about beating Minecraft, but more so a datapack that wants you to stay on your toes; it wants to bring back that sandbox feel without having to make it an 'annoyance' to obtain blocks, make farms, whatever!
-
Hunger mechanics have changed. You can't get hungry anymore, but to heal, you must eat food. You can sprint forever now without having to worry about hunger.
-
Difficulty-wise, it's not meant to be hard. Unless you make it hard.
New Items
Turrets and Water pressurizers
New arrow types:
Flaming Arrows, Piercing Arrows, Explosive Arrows
Steel has been introduced:
- Steel is used to craft anvils, flint and steel, piercing arrows, and steel armor.
What changed for vanilla Minecraft?
- Potions and enchanted books can stack.
- Potions now have a cooldown when used.
- Anvil XP limit is no longer an issue. Costs are fixed by enchantment level
- Lightning deals true damage (Tridents with channeling can be thrown at any time)
- Tipped Arrows now emit a lingering cloud that corresponds to its potion arrow.
- Cauldrons can be used to create tipped arrows. Throw a potion into a cauldron and drop arrows inside the cauldron in order to turn them into tipped arrows.
- You can craft enchantments
- you can use copper to create rails, shears, powered rails, and saddles
- Villagers trade shepherds and leatherworkers. Have changed as well! They give decent trades now! Other villagers' trades may have been modified, but most, if not the majority, still have their trades
Environment Changes:
- World generation has changed in favor of the beta 1.7.3 style.
- Caves under oceans are massive. Happy splunking
- Caves also give darkness: Use torches or drink night vision.
For darkness to go away with a torch, you must stay in RANGE of the light. Night vision clears darkness entirely until it ends.
-
Oceans have been made deeper. The deeper you go into the ocean. The harder it is to stay there.
- Darkness is given the moment you reach a Y-level threshold of 10.
- Passing Y-level -30, you'll start suffering debuffs such as weakness, nausea, and slowness.
-
You'll start suffering pressure damage, and drowning is more deadly the deeper you are underwater.
-
During snowstorms or when swimming in colder biomes. You'll start to freeze. For oceans, you can counter this by wearing leather or staying out of water.
-
Snowstorms: take cover under trees to reset the freeze tick timer
-
Conduits make you immune to depth changes and remove darkness.
Ore Changes:
- Diamonds are rarer but are more common in deep ocean biomes
If you don't want to do that. Craft explosive arrows; start firing them underground. Explosive arrows break blocks and drop them. Ores do not.
Iron and amethyst rates have increased
Turrets and pressure pressurizer
These turrets are inspired by a datapack called "TURRETS - NightLight Series." None of its code, assets, or names are used in the production of this.
These mechanics focus on base defense, automatic farms, or passive abilities
Water pressurizers make deep ocean exploration more viable and less dangerous. They provide a 32-block radius of water breathing. Removes deep ocean debuffs but not darkness.
Turrets can be crafted. They are shown in the recipe book.
Building one requires a solid block, a fence on top of the block, and placing a turret or pressurizer egg on top of the fence. Afterwards, place a barrel next to the solid block.
Water pressurizers do not require a barrel. They can only be used in water.
Turrets wear out over time. Requiring you to fix them! Simply place iron ingots inside the barrel. Turrets fix themselves
Depending on the type of turret you make! There are two types!
-
Standard Turret: Fires arrows.
-
Missile launcher: Fires fireworks.
Turrets start as level one turrets. To upgrade them, you use a coastal trim and iron to advance them to level two. Level three requires netherite and diamond.
Turrets have modules. They either specialize in unlocking new fire modes or give boosts and wear reduction
Daylight Detector — Damage Module: Increases damage per shot. Standard turrets gain +5 damage; missile turrets gain +8.
Beacon — Cooldown Module: Reduces reload time and makes the turret wear down more slowly.
Repeater — Minigun Module: Makes the turret fire much faster, but each shot does half damage.
TNT — Mortar Module (Missile Turrets only): Changes the missile turret into a mortar. It lobs shells at targets from 5 to 24 blocks away, and the shells track moving targets.
Nether Star - Put a Nether Star in the turret’s rear barrel to let it target in any direction and extend its range. The star isn’t consumed
JUST TRY THE DATAPACK!!. THERE'S TOO MUCHHH RAHHHHHHHH
