AppleSkinHue
A small Fabric add-on for Minecraft 1.21.11 that makes AppleSkin's HUD
overlay icons (saturation bar, hunger-restore preview, estimated-health
preview, exhaustion bar) recolorable
It does not modify AppleSkin's jar. It's a separate mod that uses a
Mixin to redirect the handful of spots where AppleSkin hard-codes a white
tint, so it keeps working across AppleSkin bugfix updates as long as
HUDOverlayHandler's method signatures don't change.
Requirements
Minecraft 1.21.11
Fabric Loader ≥ 0.18.2
Fabric API 0.139.4+1.21.11 (or newer for 1.21.11)
AppleSkin 3.0.8+mc1.21.11 (or newer) — get it from
https://modrinth.com/mod/appleskin or CurseForge. This add-on does
nothing without AppleSkin installed alongside it.
Usage
All in-game, no restart needed:
/appleskincolor set <saturation|hunger|health|exhaustion|all> <#RRGGBB|r,g,b>
/appleskincolor reset [target]
/appleskincolor toggle
/appleskincolor list
Examples:
/appleskincolor set exhaustion #FF5555
/appleskincolor set all 100,220,255
/appleskincolor reset hunger
/appleskincolor toggle
Settings are saved to config/appleskincolor.json and persist between
sessions; you can also hand-edit that file while the game is closed.
How it works
AppleSkin draws every one of these HUD overlays by tinting a white icon
texture via ColorHelper.argbFromRGBA(1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F, alpha). This mod's
single Mixin (HUDOverlayHandlerMixin) redirects each of those calls to
substitute your configured R/G/B while leaving AppleSkin's own alpha,
flash, and animation logic completely alone — so all of AppleSkin's
existing behavior (fading, flashing, positioning) is untouched, only the
color changes.
