Changes
For normal users
- Fully re-implemented the "islands" world preset.
- Each island has a different type associated with it.
- Each island type can be thought of as like a different biome, with a different set of terrain gen parameters.
- Performance improvements.
- Sand, gravel, and other falling blocks now work differently in Big Globe worlds.
- This is because there's sometimes a lot of it underground in cave ceilings, and having it all fall at once is laggy.
- Fixed lava replacing blocks that it shouldn't near lava level in the nether.
- Dry lakes now only spawn in deserts.
- Likewise, non-dry lakes now only spawn outside of deserts.
- Minor visual tweak: aura-infused clouds now have AO, like regular clouds do.
- Added UNSUPPORTED mixin
ChunkPyramid_ConfigurableFeatureRadiusto expand the max size of configured features.- This mixin may be unstable, and may break things in subtle and hard-to-debug ways.
- This mixin will make worldgen noticeably slower when exploring.
- This mixin will never be enabled by default.
- Nevertheless, it can be used to make my trees spawn correctly in pre-generated worlds, without needing to get near them first, which may be desirable when combined with LODs.
- A value of 4 is required for my largest trees. The max value is 8, and the mixin will be completely disabled when set to a negative value or 0.
- If you use this mixin, you are not allowed to report bugs with anything to anyone.
For data pack developers
- The concept of column restrictions has been replaced with scripts.
- This affects flowers, trees with fungal shelves, and rock layers.
- Reason: the existing column restriction system was too limited (it didn't even have a dedicated type for world traits), too verbose, slower than it needed to be, and required a lot of maintenance. Scripts are just better in every possible way.
- Removed legacy handling of
minecraft:grassandminecraft:chainblocks.- These were renamed in vanilla a long time ago to
minecraft:short_grassandminecraft:iron_chainrespectively. - Big Globe would previously accept the old names too, for scripts that needed to work in multiple MC versions.
- However, Big Globe no longer supports MC versions where these legacy names were in-use, so support for the legacy names is now removed.
- These were renamed in vanilla a long time ago to

Projects on Modrinth are automatically available through a Maven repository for use with JVM build tools such as Gradle. To learn more about the Modrinth Maven API, click here.
Note: When available, you should use the creator's maven repo instead as it will have transitive dependency information that the Modrinth Maven API does not. You may also end up with duplicate dependencies if you use a mix of Modrinth and non-Modrinth Maven repositories for your dependencies, because the group identifier will be different when served through the Modrinth Maven API.
