Large update, which introduces a new dungeon, entity and biome, the stone forest! This humid jungle biome spawns large eroded blocks of moss-covered stone that permeate through the entire region. This busy region is difficult to explore.
Changelog:
- New feature, the karst stone. Large pillars of rock that spawn in the stone forest
- New biome, stone forest. A tall dense, jungle biome
- New dungeon, the Great Wall. A surface structure called the Great Wall is a linear stone brick wall filled with treasures and traps.
- New block. A terracotta warrior statue that is a double-height block about as tall as the player character
- New entity. The terracotta warrior. Blends in perfectly with the new block...
- Simplified Chinese translations added to the mod's language settings
- New target-tracking movement capabilities for entities that will force them to hop towards a target instead of walking. When on the ground they will never move, but once in the middle of a jump they will apply a velocity and jump towards their intended target. used by the new terracotta warriors.
- Adjusted colours of the tanooki spawn egg
- Added spawn egg for the terracotta warrior entity
- New structure type, large jigsaw structures. These are jigsaw structures that allow for larger generation, at the risk of hitting the maximum size possible in standard Minecraft structure generation and getting cut off
- Updated mod configuration so the new stone forest biome can be toggled on/off
- Gazebos can now spawn in stone forests
- Giant buddhas can now spawn in stone forests
- Ruined Torii portals can now spawn in stone forests
- Torii gates can now spawn in stone forests
- Cherry blossom grotto villages can now spawn in stone forests
- Stone forest and black pine biomes are now enabled in the mod's config by default instead of being disabled by default
Thanks to junshenxie for the Chinese translations
1.6.0 version of the mod adding some new content and fixing some issues. New Content:
- New tree type, the black pine. These trees spawn in a variety of styles. All the expected new wood blocks and items are part of this addition
- New biome, the black pine forest. This is a simple flat forest with black pine trees and a high concentration of tall grass making it look quite overgrown. This biome is considered in "beta" and has to be activated by setting the correct value in the mod's config file
- Bamboo planks hidden trapdoor added to the 1.20 snapshot
Fixes:
- Maple woods biome is now going to spawn far less frequently and in smaller sizes.
- Maple trees spawn rate for bees reduced by 4x to address performance when exploring the biome.
- Gazebo structure no longer is cut off at the back when spawning into the overworld
- Redesign of the masonary at the cherry blossom grotto village
- Maple wood signs can now be placed into the world properly
General updates for 1.19.4 compatibility:
- Added feature gated bamboo planks trapdoor
- Katanas are now classified as a type of sword
- Cherry blossom slopes can now spawn white foxes and white rabbits
- Cherry blossom wood now uses the same block sets at the vanilla cherry wood coming in 1.20
- Cherry Blossom slopes biome is now correctly classified as a mountain biome
- Ruined torii portal is now correctly classified as a variant of a ruined portal structure
- General refactor to fix breaking changes from vanilla Minecraft updates
New version of the mod that fixes a couple of longstanding issues and adds some basic new features!
New content:
- Paper Lanterns. These new lantern blocks can be placed or hung like iron lanterns and are crafted with a torch surrounded by paper. They emit less light than a standard lantern.
- Maple Syrup. Stripping a maple log and right-clicking with an empty bottle will now fill the bottle with maple syrup. Consuming the syrup will not affect hunger or saturation much but will grant a brief swiftness buff! Stripped maple logs cannot have maple syrup extracted more than once.
- Gazebo. New structure that spawns in cherry blossom and maple woods biomes. This simple structure will provide a safe place in the dark during your exploration!
- More configuration settings! Leaf pile spawn rates and falling leaf particle spawns can now be controlled via the mod's configuration file.
Issues Fixed:
- Villages now properly spawn. For a long time they have been spawning quite sparsely (only a few buildings). Now they spawn just as big as vanilla villages making them much more interesting to explore!
- Village buildings no longer spawn in shallow water
- Maple Trees. Small maple trees will no longer spawn. All maple trees are now fancy and tall
- Double Jump enchantment can now be applied to any form of foot armour.
- Minor refactor and cleanup of various blocks
With the revelation of cherry blossom biomes for vanilla Minecraft 1.20, I'm expanding the mod to include some more biomes that I have been toying around with. These "beta" biomes will be placed here before the mod is sunsetted in v1.20 of vanilla and I break off worthwhile features into a new mod to take the place of this one.
Changes include:
New maple tree. This tree has red leaves and generates leaf piles underneath leaf blocks similar to how the mod's cherry blossom petal piles would form. There are new particle effects for this feature. These trees spawn like fancy oaks in vanilla.
New maple woods biome. This biome spawns maple trees
New oak & maple forest biome. This biome spawns a mix of oak and maple trees
New maple wood blocks. With the introduction of the new tree type that means the following
An entire new wood type for maple wood blocks
Maple logs and wood can be crafted into maple planks
Maple planks can be crafted into all expected wooden plank blocks, items and entities. Including building blocks like stairs, and slabs, and entities like boats and signs.
Maple saplings which can also be potted
Refactor to cherry blossom content for better code organization
Maple leaf items can be picked up by harvesting maple leaf piles and used to craft red dye
Fixes an issue with cherry blossom grotto village generation that caused less buildings to generate along streets than in a vanilla village.
Reduced the weight of the modded region, meaning it should spawn a bit less to increase its scarcity.
Added some basic configurations to the mod, so users can toggle some settings
Updated the texture for the cherry blossom sapling
This version adds a new dependency to handle entity animation: Geckolib
Adds a new entity to the mod, the tanooki. The tanooki has the following behaviours:
- It is currently a totally passive mob, it attacks nothing and never fights back when attacked
- If attacked it will scurry away from the asailant at a very high speed
- It can be tempted into following the player with practically any food item in the game
- It can be fed any food item to initiate breeding when near another tanooki
- The tanooki has a list of desired items that it will run and scoop up if dropped into the world. These items are not deleted from the world but stored in the tanooki's inventory. The tanooki's inventory will be dropped on death like a player's would.
- Tanooki's have a random chance of dropping any valuable item upon death, even if their inventory is empty.
- Tanooki's spawn in any of the cherry blossom biomes in this mod.
Improvements, mostly visual, to the cherry blossom petals:
- Cherry blossom petal particle textures are doubled in size and have more detail now thanks to new textures
- Cherry blossom leaves spawn petal piles at half the speed now
- Cherry blossom petal item texture was improved
- Added a fourth cherry blossom petal particle texture
- Pink dye can now be crafted from cherry blossom petals
Other additions in this release:
- Some minor refactor to improve entity initialization.
- Fixed spawns of the koi pond town center. This will now have a chance of spawning in villages again
Given that I've been pushing out "beta" builds of this mod for so long I've decided its stable enough that I'm going to mark this as the first non-beta release! Got some more ideas for future features but for now, here's how this release rounds out the mod into its big release:
- Added the new cherry blossom slopes biome! This biome has a sparse forest of cherry blossom trees spawn on snowy mountainsides
- Added the new cherry blossom bamboo jungle biome! This biome is a bamboo jungle interspersed with cherry blossom trees
- Added new surface rules to customize how snow and dirt spawns in the new cherry blossom slopes biome
- Update lots of tags, mostly for biomes, to ensure all modded biomes are associated with the right information
- Reduce the commonality of cherry blossom biomes. They will now spawn much less frequently in vanilla worlds.
Updates the mod for compatibility with Minecraft Forge on v1.19.3.
Also includes some minor feature updates and fixes:
- Fixed missing textures or particles when breaking cherry blossom petal piles
- Added properly organized items for the mod when viewing creative mode tabs
- Added a standalone creative mod tab just to house all items added in this mod
- Fixed issue where double jumping was no longer setting the proper jump delay on the entity due to a change in the obfuscated name of the variable that was being updated via reflection.
- Added cherry blossom hanging signs (both ceiling and wall based versions) behind the 1.20 feature gate
- Added datapack for 1.20 features compatible with this mod (mostly tags and recipes related to hanging signs) Fixed some missing english strings used when navigating the menus for stripped cherry blossom blocks
Some fixes for the 1.19.2 version of the mod:
- Fixes issue with cherry blossom planks recipe
- Fixes issue with katana folding custom recipe
- Updates to more recent version of Forge
- Updates to more recent version of Terrablender
- Fix issues with cherry blossom sign entities sometimes being textureless
- Update license in mods.toml
