Disx is a Minecraft mod that allows you to "burn" audio/music from YouTube videos onto custom-made discs! Multiplayer playback is in fact supported!
The mod is currently available on version 1.20.1 on Fabric, Forge, and Quilt.
THIS MOD REQUIRES ARCHITECTURY API AND, IF ON FABRIC, FABRIC API, OR, IF ON QUILT, QUILT STANDARD LIBRARIES
Use of REI is encouraged, as Disx has built-in support for it, making it easier to see recipes for custom discs in our custom workstation blocks. Support for EMI and JEI is coming soon.

Q: Why does it keep saying
Disx Error: No video found!
when I try to make a record stamp?A: If you are on a server, some server hosts prevent the mod from properly loading video information. To work around this, run the following command:
/disxconfig setProperty video_existence_check false
. This command will disable the particular feature on the mod. The playback WILL still work, even though the discs you produce will say "Video Not Found" in their descriptions.Q: Will this be on versions other than 1.20.1?
A: Yes, this mod will be ported to other versions once it is more close to fully complete.
Q: Can I use this in my modpack?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: I try to sneak and click the Stamp Maker, but it just disappears. Why?
A: Make sure you don't have Carry On installed, as Disx mod is not currently compatible with it.
Q: I put a disc in the Advanced Jukebox and no audio playback is happening. Is the mod broken?
A: YouTube has a tendency to update its innerworkings regularly in efforts to fight piracy and bots. Due to this, sometimes the mod will fail to play audio back if YouTube has pushed an update that nerfed its code. In this event, wait for a new release of this mod to fix playback. I try my best to keep up with these changes and ensure the mod is in fully functioning condition at all times.
Q: I am on Linux, and when the mod is supposed to be playing audio I cannot hear anything. How do I fix this?
A: To fix this, you'll want to make sure the package
pipewire-alsa
is installed. Without it, the bit of the mod's code that routes audio data to your audio device will not work (javax specifically).Q: I sneak and clicked on the Stamp Maker but nothing opens. How do I resolve this?
A: If you are using a version older than 0.2.0, make sure you do not have anything in your MAIN or OFF HANDS. If you do, Minecraft will prioritize that item's function over the Stamp Maker when sneaking.
