Prosperity — Loot Overhaul
Every chest, yours to discover.

Also on CurseForge and GitHub Releases. Visit the website for the full feature list, config reference, and command guide.
Prosperity is an instanced loot overhaul for Minecraft 1.21.1 (Fabric). It gives every player their own loot from naturally generated containers — no more racing to the good chests on a shared server — and rewards exploration with distance-scaled loot quality. It works by attaching per-player loot to vanilla containers via persistent Fabric data attachments and intercepting interactions through events; it never registers custom blocks or replaces block entities.
A focused overhaul. A drop-in replacement for Lootr with extra reach. Zero external dependencies beyond Fabric API.
At a glance
- Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric loader (0.16.10+), Fabric API required.
- Install on the server and every client.
- Tunable through
config/prosperity.json— hot-reload with/prosperity reload. - MIT licensed.
Features
Instanced Loot
Every player gets their own independent loot from each naturally generated container, rolled the first time they open it and stored per UUID. Hoppers and comparators see an empty vanilla container — instanced loot lives outside the vanilla inventory, preventing extraction and duplication exploits. Chests, barrels, shulker boxes, loot dispensers, and chest/hopper minecarts are all covered, so mineshaft loot is first-class.
Distance Scaling
Loot quality scales with absolute distance from world origin across five tiers:
| Tier | Distance (blocks) | Quantity | Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local | 0 – 999 | 1.0x | +0 |
| Frontier | 1,000 – 2,999 | 1.5x | +1 |
| Wilderness | 3,000 – 5,999 | 2.0x | +2 |
| Outlands | 6,000 – 9,999 | 2.75x | +3 |
| Depths | 10,000+ | 3.5x | +4 |
Stack quantities scale by the multiplier (capped at 64); quality adds luck to loot generation. The End is always treated as Depths tier.
The same tiers drive the whole reward loop, not just chests. Hostile mobs you kill drop scaled stacks and rarer loot (player kills only); fishing rolls the catch at the bobber's tier and biases toward treasure the farther out you cast; trial-chamber vault and spawner rewards scale with the chamber's tier. Loot every instanced container in a structure and the final one pays an extra tier-appropriate reward with an action-bar fanfare. Each surface is independently toggleable.
Structure overrides can fix, raise, or cap the tier a given structure uses.
Prospector's Compass
A gold-cased compass whose needle points at the nearest container you have not looted yet — each player's points somewhere different, because each player's loot history is different. Craft one from a compass, gold, netherite, and an end rod, or find one as injected chest loot from the Frontier tier outward.
Unlooted Indicators
A gold sparkle hovers above containers you haven't opened yet and disappears once you've looted them. No more backtracking through strongholds, mansions, and mineshafts to find what you missed — container minecarts carry the same sparkle. It renders as a client-side, world-space overlay driven from lightweight per-chunk requests.
Tier HUD Badge & Peek Detail
A compact badge in the shared Concord HUD strip shows your current distance tier at a glance, drawn in the tier's color and updating live as you travel. Hold Left Alt — the rebindable Peek Loot Detail bind — for a detail panel: your tier and progress to the next, the full tier ladder, and the unlooted containers around you, with distance and bearing to the nearest when you're carrying a Prospector's Compass.
Party Loot
Optional co-op sharing (off by default): players on the same team share a single loot instance per container instead of each rolling their own — the first teammate to open a chest rolls the loot the whole team draws from. It follows vanilla scoreboard teams by default, or your Open Parties and Claims or FTB Teams party when either is installed.
Milestone Advancements
A Prosperity advancement tab turns exploration into goals: reach each distance tier in turn, loot 10 / 50 / 250 containers over a lifetime, and cover 3 / 8 / 15 distinct structure types. Every milestone is granted server-side the moment loot is generated, so only real instanced opens count.
Loot Modifier API & Injection
A stable, Fabric-style LootModifierCallback event lets other mods adjust loot
generation after distance scaling. A datapack-driven injection system adds custom
items to vanilla loot tables gated by minimum distance tier — and Prosperity
ships built-in injections so distance scaling feels meaningful out of the box.
Commands
Player commands: /prosperity info and /prosperity stats show your current
loot tier and your lifetime loot statistics. Operator commands (level 2) cover
reset and refresh — by container position or around you within a radius,
optionally for a single player — plus reload to hot-reload config from disk.

Optional integrations
Prosperity detects and integrates with these mods when present. None are bundled — install whichever you already use.
- Mod Menu — config screen entry
- Cloth Config — settings GUI
- Jade / WTHIT — container loot-status, distance-tier, structure-override, and refresh-timer tooltips
- EMI / REI / JEI — a loot-table index and injection recipes
- Meridian — injected enchanted-book rewards roll live, distance-scaled Meridian enchantments
- Tribulation — local danger adds bonus luck, and dangerous mobs drop their tier gear more often the farther out they roam
- Open Parties and Claims / FTB Teams — party loot follows your party instead of scoreboard teams
