RIAutomobility: Unofficial Fabric Port
An unofficial Fabric port of RIAutomobility, an addon for Automobility.
This project ports the upstream RIAutomobility 1.0.4b source by Shinonome Shakusora. It is maintained separately and is not endorsed by the original author.
Included content

- Wooden, copper, steel, golden, and bejeweled quad motorcars
- Lorry, DMC12, and Standard Formula frames
- DMC12 and Standard Formula wheels
- Two- and four-seat layouts
- Server-authoritative seat switching while mounted, skipping occupied seats
- Persistent 54-slot lorry cargo, opened by sneaking and interacting with the vehicle
- Datapack-defined frames and wheels, with optional synchronized RIA frame behavior and a current-format ExamplePack
- Original special-frame hitboxes and attachment restrictions
- Component-specific Auto Mechanic Table recipes
- Current Automobility vehicle physics, hitboxes, and inventory rendering

Matching builds (checked 4 October 2026)
| Minecraft | Automobility | Momentum (optional) | RIAutomobility (optional) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 26.1.2 | 1.0.0-beta.1 | 1.0.0-beta.2 | 0.1.0-unofficial.9 |
| 26.2 | 1.0.0-beta.1 | 1.0.0-beta.2 | 0.1.0-unofficial.9 |
| 26.3 | 1.0.0-beta.1 | 1.0.0-beta.2 | 0.1.0-unofficial.10 |
These are matching public Fabric beta builds, not interchangeable Minecraft targets. Momentum and RIA are optional for base Automobility; install each selected addon on both client and server with the Automobility release linked on the same row. Their different version numbers are intentional; RIA .10 for 26.3 updates its core dependency, not a missing feature backport for the older .9 builds. Older files remain available under Versions with their original requirements. This table does not establish compatibility for every optional integration.
Requirements
- Fabric Loader
- Fabric API
- Automobility: Unofficial Port, using the matching Minecraft target and the dependencies listed on the chosen RIA version page
- Java 25
The mod is required on both the client and server.
Versions and controls
Beta builds are available for Minecraft Java 26.1.x, 26.2, and 26.3. Install the correct build and its matching Automobility dependency on both the client and server; files for different Minecraft targets are not interchangeable.
Seat switching is remappable in Minecraft's Controls under RIAutomobility: Controls. Current .9 builds for 26.1.2/26.2 and .10 for 26.3 use H by default, avoiding Minecraft Quick Actions on G and Momentum's R resume-cruise-control binding. Saved R, G, and custom bindings are preserved; existing profiles can choose H manually in Controls.
Beta status and custom packs
Lorry cargo, mounted seat switching, and current-format datapack components are implemented. Static JSON and OBJ custom models are supported. GeckoLib-backed animated custom models and legacy RIAutomobility 1.20.1 JSON paths are not loaded directly; custom packs must use the port's current 26.x formats and ExamplePack.
The port remains beta. Validation coverage varies by Minecraft build and addon combination; broader multiplayer, controller, and third-party modpack testing is still recommended. Please report issues to this port's tracker with the Minecraft version, exact mod versions, and logs rather than to the upstream project.
