World Remoulded is a mod that aims to bring back weirdness and wonder to Minecrafts Overworld generation present in early versions! The project aims to strike a careful balance between generating terrain that never bores the player while remaining survival friendly to traverse and explore. More difficult to traverse terrain does exist however, which will encourage the player to use reliable mounts more often.
Additionally, this mod features a rework to the Alternate stone types, giving them cobbled variants that can be substituted for Cobblestone in recipes! They each have respective biomes where they spawn more often. Also adding additional immersion in your world through the enviroment, where the sky and water colours in some biomes have been altered! Enjoy some darker blues in cold biomes and minty greens to soft oranges in jungle and desert biomes!

How this mod works is that it modifies several JSON files that control how the world generates. It takes inspiration from both the amplified and large biomes world types, and essentially creates a combined, slightly watered down version of both. Amplified worlds are stunning but can be hard to navigate and taxing on the users PC, and large biomes are, well, true to the name of course but to an inconvinient degree. This datapack takes the best from both and merges it into the default terrain gen. The Caves and Cliffs terrain generation can provide some stunning backdrops, but if the realism it focuses on has bored you long ago, then this pack will be the solution for that!
DISCLAIMER
This mod is in Alpha, and is not quite perfect yet. One large issue that comes from taking aspects from Amplified features is that many caves in the Stone layer beneath sea level are very flooded. This can be circumnavigated by mining in places like Meadows that spawn on much more elevated terrain, or places further inland from rivers or oceans. I tried my best to solve this issue before uploading this mod but I wasn't able to come up with a solution, so I'm just going to upload it regardless in an Alpha state, and once I get that issue ironed out, I'll move it along to Beta while I change some other things I have planned. I don't want to waste anymore time trying to solve a problem I am currently not capable of solving so I'd like to get other projects worked on in the mean time until I do!
Is this mod compatible with [x] mod/datapack?
If the mod/datapack modifies the base overworld world gen in any way then most likely no, and it'll likely stay that way as I intend for this pack to work with vanilla world gen only. Any mods that add biomes I'm not entirely sure about, and any mods that instead add or edit features like ores, structures and trees should in theory work. In regards to that I can confirm from testing, my own Treevamped mod works with World Remoulded which I imagine other tree changing mods will as well, and Deeper Oceans by Apollo seems to work too
Will you port this pack to [x] version?
Currently, my primary focus is making all the mods I am working on for 1.21.11 as this is the version of Minecraft I want my modpack project to center around. In the future or when I have the time, I will do my best to make as many of my projects for other versions as possible but I can't make any promises
Any plans for the future?
Yes! I may tweak some values of the World Gen down the line once I get a better grasp of how they work, but additionally i both have other plans to liven up foliage and add features across biomes that feel vanilla, and there are also admittedly issues I need to iron out which is why the mod is Alpha at the moment, as explained above
This terrain generation is less realistic than vanilla
Good! That was the goal :)
Thank you for checking out my mod!
