MCVT: What is it?
Minecraft Vanilla Tweaked or shorter, MCVT is a modpack designed to enhance the vanilla Minecraft experience, focusing on both performance improvements and feature expansions. If you're bored of playing the same old Minecraft, MCVT offers a refreshing take with mods/resource packs customizability, making to players who prefer performance optimizations, feature-rich gameplay, or both.
This modpack is highly modifiable and works seamlessly with vanilla servers, making it ideal as a client-side modpack. While it's primarily for client use, some mods also support server-side functionality.
Pre-Answered Questions
Q: Will you ever add a shader engine to the modpack?
A: Yes, I plan on adding shader engine support in the future. However, there are currently some issues with specific mods that prevent shaders from running properly, often causing crashes. In the meantime, you can manually add a shader engine, but be cautious as this may lead to compatibility or crash issues, but without the shader engine, the game runs just fine.
Q: Where can I report issues?
A: For now, there isn't a dedicated platform for issue reporting. If the modpack gains traction, I will set up a git repo for bug reports and suggestions.
Q: Will this modpack support older versions of Minecraft?
A: Yes, MCVT aims to support older Minecraft versions. However, keep in mind that finding optimization and client-only mods for versions below 1.19.2 can be a bit hard
Q: I want to remove a specific mod, resource pack, or shader. Will this break the modpack?
A: Generally, removing mods, resource packs, or shaders is fine, but avoid removing essential libraries (there are only a few in this pack). Here’s how:
Mods/Shaders: Navigate to the mods or shaderpacks folder for the specific Minecraft version you are playing and delete the mod/shader you wish to remove.
Resource Packs: Go to Options -> Resource Packs in-game and move the unwanted pack to the "Available" section.
Q: The modpack doesn’t improve my game performance significantly. Why?
A: Here are three points to look for:
While MCVT includes numerous performance mods, it doesn't guarantee a fixed FPS boost, especially on low-end PCs.
The modpack is not solely focused on performance; it’s about balancing features and optimization.
Check your video settings. If you're unfamiliar with certain terms or options, consider looking them up online.
Q: Can I add, remove, or configure mods in this modpack?
A: Absolutely! You are free to customize the modpack to suit your needs. Just be carefult with essential libraries and configurations to make sure the modpack remains functional.
Why Choose MCVT?
Customizable: Choose what you’re after for, pure performance boosts or/and new features.
Future support for Older Versions: Play your favorite Minecraft versions with modern optimizations and features (within compatibility & version limits).
