What is this modpack?
Rail Link is a vanilla-styled modpack about connecting the world with rails, in particular with the Minecraft Transit Railway (MTR) mod by Jonathan Ho and vanilla rails with the High-Speed Rail mod by pcal43.
The main structures to connect in this pack are villages (inspired from Railroad Industries by Railengineer), and the spawn rates of villages added by Repurposed Structures have been bumped significantly to allow for more places to connect. This creates an interesting effect of some areas (usually biomes where Repurposed Structures villages spawn) having a high number of villages, while other areas (usually biomes where only vanilla villages spawn) having a low number of villages. How to connect them (MTR transportation methods or vanilla rails) and which ones to connect is up to you, but can you see how high speed trains and light rail can combine nicely to connect them with this setup? (P.S. it may take a couple of world generation tries before you get this effect and/or what you're looking for!)
It also includes mods that reduce the grind and annoying parts of vanilla Minecraft, including wayfinding, searching for specific biomes, structures, and caves, moving passive mobs, ore doubling, rerolling villager trades, dying in Minecraft, carrying and moving items, and storage systems. The intention here is to create a pack for people who don't have much time to play the game (like me) and hence aren't skilled enough for large scale builds (also me) and/or don't have time for them (also also me). Hence the close proximity of villages in some areas would only require smaller railways, fitting the smaller scale builds.
Speaking of, I wouldn't call this pack a vanilla+ pack; it should still feel mostly vanilla with the exception of the MTR mod. It doesn't aim to extend the vanilla game in a vanilla way, but instead just get rid of the annoying parts (at least the ones I find annoying).
Oh I've also exported the options I use as well so you get to use the same ones I've picked that avoids major conflicting keybinds. And there are some performance mods included too; inspiration from Fabulously Optimized's mod list.
Initially I didn't plan to release this pack to the public, but I changed my mind after updating the pack to 1.20.1 as I realized it wasn't so difficult to do. There was also a request for it so it pushed me further to release it. I hope you enjoy this little pack I initially created for myself, whether in singleplayer or multiplayer! Feel free to explore the mods included and have fun connecting the world with rails.
And of course, thank you mod authors and the modded community for these amazing mods! Such as Useful Slime by MinecraftEinstein (mandatory credit as per mod license).

Potential FAQs
- I am open to suggestions for the pack, including mods that further reduce the vanilla grind...
- ...HOWEVER I am quite busy right now, so updates may take a long time.
- I have recieved suggestions for adding other MTR addons, but for now I'll stick to just having the base mod as I continue to explore it. I may consider adding it in future versions of the pack.
- Feel free to play this modpack with friends and make YouTube/Twitch videos/streams on it (including monetization); just be sure to credit this page and not claim it as your own, and don't make it seem I'm endorsing it as according to the modpack license.
