Betrayal SMP — Hardcore PvP Progression
What if opening a crafting table killed you?
Betrayal SMP turns any server into a cutthroat PvP battleground. Crafting tables are lethal, enchantment tables are forbidden, librarians won't sell you enchanted books — and the only way to gear up is to rip enchantments off other players.
The official plugin behind the Betrayal SMP series by BlakDevil.
Perfect for hardcore SMPs, PvP events, and creators running betrayal-style series.
Kill Rewards — Enchanted Book Drops
Every player kill drops a random enchanted book from the victim. The book's level scales with the killer's kill points:
| Killer Kill Points | Book Level |
|---|---|
| 1 | Level 1 (any enchantment) |
| 2 | Level 2 — or level 1 for single-tier enchants like Silk Touch |
| 3 | Level 3 |
| 4 | Level 4 |
| 5+ | Max level (Sharpness V, Protection IV, Power V…) |
Point rules:
- Kill a player → +1 point
- Get killed by a player → −1 point (minimum 0)
- Die to mobs, fall damage, fire, etc. → no change
- Kill data persists across server restarts
- Curses (Binding, Vanishing) are excluded from the loot pool
Lethal Crafting Tables
Players can only craft in their 2×2 inventory grid.
Open a crafting table or crafter block and you lose your entire inventory and die on the spot.
Forbidden Enchanting
Open an enchantment table: inventory wiped, instant death.
No Librarian Book Trades
Take an enchanted book from a librarian trade: inventory wiped, instant death.
All other villager trades are untouched.
Need a Way to Enchant?
If enchantment tables are forbidden, where do you get the gear to survive?
You find it.
The Betrayal SMP Structure Addon adds treasure maps to Toolsmith and Weaponsmith village chests, giving you a chance to discover buried treasures containing powerful progression loot — including anvils, tools, armour, and enchanted books.
Explore villages. Find the map. Dig up the treasure. Get the gear.
The only question is: who gets there first?
