Guard villagers have been completely rewrited.
They now have an eating animation as well as when they open doors. Armor shouldn't clip anymore and all the helmet layer now works.
Their attack animations and idle weapon placement have been refined. It now use a variable system, before it was done as one attack per model. Now all the melee weapons are defined in one unique model. Another model define bows and crossbows, only a third one for riffle and pistols. (musket mod for now)
Melee attacks and idle placement are now different for: swords, axes, trident, mace, hoes and shield but also support my Song of War custom weapon pack
with 5 name dependants animations
I am hoping this system allow me to add new weapon support way more easily than before.
There is one drawback tho! The way animations works you have to define a math formula for each axis of rotation and translation. I'm afraid all those variables might cause some fps drops in game beacause it add a LOT of code. I have done some testing myself, but my computer is quite good, I have not seen problems.
So I'll let the pack in beta for some time to get feedback from you all, especially if you have a low end computer, I would appreciate if you can compare the 1.5 version and this new one. Open an Issue for your feedback
Once the light is made on those performances, I plan to support villager recruits since Fresh Friends is not updated anymore. They will inherit of the same animations as guard villagers.
Other reason of this beiing a beta:
- I only added the villager model of guards for this beta. Human will come anytime soon (also after some performance feedback)
- Forge guard have their arms glitching from time to time. You might see some z fighting with their biome outfit, and they sometimes wiggle a little bit. I don't know how to cancel that in my animations so you don't see 2 set of arms. This is quite subtle but still noticible.
- I also finally added compat with better mob combat. But this is not perfect. On fabric you might need to refresh the ressource pack a few time (F3+T) for the armor to sync with the guard.
- On forge with better combat the head will clip the helmet while attacking. I don't know wich mod is faulty, or if this is me. But this is better than having some 4 handed guards for now :p
- They will not hold their weapon in custom location when using better mob combat! (This only affect the melee guards)
I have not checked the other supported mods. I will update once it's done.
This pack aim to bring the flair of Fresh Animations into the modded world.
This pack is not made by Fresh LX, and is meant to be used along side his.
Make sure to use latest Entity Texture/Model Features mods. I want to cover mods of both Forge and Fabric loader (not only mods present on both) I try to retain how texture is mapped for each mods, so you can easily still have your own. It will be notified if for whatever reason I can't. Should work with any Minecraft version that EMF/ETF support. Optifine does NOT cover modded entity.

/!/!/!\ Disclaimer! Some querks might occur. Like a helmet on an entity could not follow the head corectly, or some attacks won't have animations. In some case it might be me who don't know what I'm doing, or it could be the way the mod vs EMF works wich lead to it not being possible. If you see something weird you can write a comment. If I can fix it, I will.
