MxSxC1 End Crystal & End Crystal Beam Texture Pack (Alpha)

The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow

Pack Purpose

This pack will replace the existing End Crystal & Beams with new textures. However this pack also provides multiple options for both crystals and beams. This is Alpha so some of these are not yet released, but will be soon.

This pack will add specific textures for use with "The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow" Data Packs and maps. See below for a list of packs that will be (or are) using this.

NOTE: This pack is currently set to have the beam set to full purple solid. Other options and colours are available within this pack. However, some of the options, colours and animations are still being tweaked. The pack will be updated ASAP, and we will include a full tutorial on how to change these settings soon! See notes below for more details.

Crystals

  • Original
  • No Base (this is covered in the data pack so not required once data pack available)
  • Vivid (partial transparency)
  • Frame Only (No Pink)
  • Lighter Pink (partially transparent, for use with certain shaders)
  • Lots more incoming including multiple colours to match beams.

Beams

Note Alpha and Transparency will not likely work due to limitations hardcoded within game (WIP finding a solution)

  • Original
  • Purple Solid
  • Purple Transparent (WIP will show as opaque in most cases, or be an on or off toggle)
  • Alpha - Original with Alpha
  • Alpha Black - Original Black with Alpha
  • White Format - Use this to make your own colours (saves you a step)
  • Orange - Doesn't Look Great (WIP)

Spoiler These Packs contain scenes, structures, events, bosses, pets, weapons, armour, items, quotes, and other information based on "The Dark Is A Cold Lonely Shadow".

If you plan to read the books, these are early versions of scenes from books which are not yet finalised. They relate to scenes which have not even been written yet in some cases, and these packs are being used to create The New Empire & The Universe in order to write the books. Some are related to books which are years away in the story. There are HUGE spoilers here.

With some guesswork (and not much) it will be possible to work out some major spoilers for the books, fight bosses, have pets, meet characters, and visit scenes for which even if you have read the first book, they aren't in the books yet.

Notes For Alpha / Future / Issues

We have tested in around 15-20 Shader Packs, all using Iris. This pack on its own works fine. However for our combined Resource Pack which also implements in-game Mojang shaders - you may have issues with Sodium/Iris errors for some combinations. That is NOT the case for this pack. This pack DOES NOT implement shaders.

Steps To Install & Update

Drop the folder/zip into your resource packs folder.

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks\

Activate it with resource packs. (Or F3+T to update while in game)

Notes / What This Pack Is Not / Or Not Yet

This pack does not include the custom shaders (which do not use mods or shader packs but in-game Mojang functionality). That will be in a separate pack.

Note that our videos and screenshots use around 40 resource packs and 50 data packs, most unreleased, this pack does not include a lot of what you might see. That is clarified within each pack.

This is not the Data Packs. The Data Packs will be released separately and control of events, beams, etc...will require those packs or your own pack (others are available which cover some of the techniques we use).
