The markers work from wooden to netherite.

Never mine the wrong block with the wrong pickaxe again. This pack adds a tiny marker to the icon of every pickaxe enchanted with Fortune or Silk Touch, so you can tell them apart at a glance while scrolling through your hotbar.

Features

  • Pickaxes with Fortune get a small gold plus
  • Pickaxes with Silk Touch get a small cyan dot
  • The marker sits in the top left corner of the icon and stays small, so it does not distract
  • The marker only appears in GUI views like the inventory and the hotbar
  • In your hand, on the ground and in item frames, the pickaxe looks exactly like vanilla
  • Works for all pickaxes, from wooden to netherite (including copper where available)

My personal use case

I made this pack for my own use. Without it, I could not tell my Fortune and Silk Touch pickaxes apart, and I kept mining ender chests without Silk Touch. The chest breaks and is gone. Now I see the marker on the icon and always grab the right pickaxe.

How it works

The pack replaces the item models of the pickaxes. In GUI views, it checks the enchantments of the pickaxe and adds a small marker on top of the vanilla texture. In every other view, the vanilla model is used. The vanilla textures themselves are not changed.

Good to know

  • The Fortune level is not shown, every Fortune level gets the same plus
  • Pickaxes with neither Fortune nor Silk Touch have no marker
  • The marker is shown together with Efficiency (up to V), Unbreaking (up to III), Mending and Curse of Vanishing
  • Pickaxes with other enchantments keep the vanilla icon
  • No other textures, sounds or models are changed, so the pack works well together with other resource packs
  • If you use another pack that changes pickaxe models, move this pack above it in the pack list

Installation

  1. Download the file
  2. Put the .zip into your resourcepacks folder (do not unzip it)
  3. Enable the pack in Options > Resource Packs
  4. If you change the pack while the game is running, reload with F3 + T
