Welcome to 'Souls: Survival'!

Modpack Features

Soul Types
Every Soul is different, from their type to their color!
- There are a total of 14 basic Souls, consisting of;
- Determination, Bravery, Justice, Kindness, Patience, Integrity, Wisdom, Fear, Compassion, Love, Hope, Hopelessness and Hate
- Outside of the basic souls, there are also 2 unique souls that are only obtainable through gameplay;
- The Draconic- and the Corrupted Souls
- The basic Souls don't change anything to your gameplay mechanically, it is meant to give you a 'character' to play as with your friends or on a public server
- The unique Souls offer the same 'character' capabilities as the basic Souls, but also change a few mechanical changes
Life(-steal)
The main mechanic!
- Players only have three lives from the start
- Dying costs you a life, no matter if its by the hand of a player or by your own stupidity
- Killing another player grants you a life, effectively stealing it from them (unless you are already full on lives)
- You can craft an Artifical Heart as a PvE alternative to killing other players
- You can grant other players a life using a Book and Quill;
- If you write a players name into a book, then sign it and name it after the target players' Soul-type, you will then receive a special book
- If you or another player destroys said book, it will then take one of your lives and grant it to the user whose username was written in the book and if their correct Soul-type was signed off
Sacrifices & Magic
Dabble in Magic and Sacrifices!
- In a similar way to giving one of your lives to another player, you can write your own name into a book and sign it off as your own Soul-type in order to gain your own Soul as an item;
- This does however set you to 0.5 lives, giving you only 5 total hearts
- If you or another players destroys this Soul-item, it will instantly kill the player who it belongs to, no matter how many lives they have obtained
- This self-sacrifice is used to infuse your soul and in order to soul-bind
- The Souls Mod introduces a whole new (crafting) system;
- The Soul Altar
- The Soul Altar is a new station in which you can craft Artifical Lives, revive other players, Soul-bind and infuse your soul;
- You can craft an Artifical Life using a Totem of Undying and a Nether Star
- You can revive a player by using their Soul (obtained from a self-sacrifice or after the death of said player) and a Nether Star
- You can soul-bind when two players self-sacrifice and both their souls are placed into the Soul Altar
- The Soul Altar has to be powered using Soul Dust and Soul Lanterns (view the gallery to see the exact setup) and it consumes the placed Soul Dust each time the Soul Altar is successfully been used
Extra Mechanics
Plenty of extra fun!
- Soul-binding is a mechanic in which you and another player willingly bind your souls together;
- Once this has been done, you now share 5 total lives, meaning that if one of the soul-bound players loses a life, they will collectively have 4 lives left
- Once killed, they drop their soul seperately (unless killed in a PvP situation), being able to be resurrected in order to seperate their souls once again
- Soul-infusing is another mechanic to empower ones soul;
- There are currently 2 ways to infuse your soul after a soul-sacrifice at the Soul Altar, the first one using a Dragon Egg to obtain a Draconic Soul, which gives you 2 extra hearts for every life that you have
- The second one being the Corrupted soul, which you can get by infusing your soul after a soul-sacrifice at the Soul Altar, using a Warden Heart, which can be obtained by killing a Warden (10% chance), giving you an extra heart for each player that you corrupt by eliminating them
- Soul Dust is a new item introduced in the Souls Mod;
- Soul Dust is used for 'sacrifices' at the Soul Altar
- It is consumed each time the Soul Altar is successfully used
- Soul Dust drops from Skeletons (1% chance), Wither Skeletons (5% chance) and Ghasts (20% chance)
