This mod has been discontinued. It was really just a custom datapack for my main modpack, and Revamped Progression is a superior alternative in most cases. This page will remain up, and this project will be superseded by a new, full mod in the future, which will take its place in my main modpack and be a complete experience to complement another of my upcoming mods, which will release first.

Enhanced Progression is the customized version of Revamped Progression, originally designed for use in the Enhanced Legacy modpack. You are free to use this in your Modrinth project, however I highly recommend checking out Revamped Progression as a standalone version of this project. The documentation on this pack and Enhanced Legacy's custom progression is below:

Stone Tools Require Stone - forget cobblestone, you now need stone to craft stone tools

Flesh to Leather (optional mod - Flesh 2 Leather) - this mod is included within the Enhanced Legacy modpack and makes leather armour more accessible, coupled with these changes to provide a more in-depth early-game

Nuggets From Furnaces - where possible, the regular furnace will smelt ores into nuggets, slowing down the early game until a blast furnace can be acquired. The system here is based on that used by CC's Stone Age datapack

Cheaper Smithing Table - to help with the new early-game uses of the smithing table, the recipe has been changed with multiple new variants involving smooth stone and copper, giving them both additional uses. The recipe can be viewed in the gallery here

Craftable Chainmail and Chains - the chain recipe is now 3 iron nuggets, and chainmail is now craftable using chains to provide a progression tier between leather and iron. You can also upgrade leather armour into chainmail armour using a chain at a smithing table. These features are based on craftable chainmail and cheaper chain datapacks.

Blast Furnace - while the iron tier of gear remains unchanged, you will likely need to acquire a blast furnace to reach it, which has a new recipe which can be found in the image gallery linked here

Rose Gold Gear - added as part of the Additional Additions mods, with diamonds are harder to come by, you may instead want to craft rose gold alloy in the meantime using gold and copper to upgrade your iron (or gold, thanks to this mod) armour at the smithing table.

Diamonds Drop Nuggets - overworld diamond ore drops (several) nuggets when mined without Silk Touch, meaning diamonds are harder to acquire to further spread out the mid-late game. This also balances Silk Touch with Fortune more than in vanilla minecraft. Coupled with slowing down access to iron gear and the flesh-to-leather mod, this datapack provides an enhanced progression system with multiple tiers of progression, rather than instant access to iron or diamonds. It is a more vanilla-friendly way of improving progression.

Smelt Raw Blocks - raw ore blocks, when smelted in a furnace, provide a singular ingot. When smelted in a blast furnace, they provide an entire block of minerals, adding an additional layer of QOL.

Blaze Powder From Lava - with ender pearls and blaze rods now non-essential to progression in Enhanced Legacy, you can now smelt lava buckets into blaze powder. Especially useful if you can’t find a fortress or just really want to use (included in Enhanced Legacy) Waystones without the hassle of going to a fortress

Many of the above features require additional mods to function. Without them, the mod will not work properly. Here are the dependencies:

Host your own Server

If you're interested in playing Minecraft (with or without my mods) with your friends, I recommend you take a look at Kinetic Hosting!. For 5GB ram, they charge under $13USD a month for Performance, and under $6 for Budget, not including my discount code! I personally use their performance servers, and their specs, price, support and easy-to-use panel are the best of all the hosts I've been with. In addition, you can use code LEGACY for 15% off your first month!

More Info

Yes, I am partnered with them (and a member of their feedback team), but as an already-existing customer of them (and have paid and still pay for their servers myself), I can legitimately say they're great, regardless of whether I'm partnered with them. They're just genuinely good, I know the support team, they're super friendly and quick. The server specs are as good as you can get, and importantly, they aren't overpriced, unlike other hosts - in fact, they're less than half the price of quite a few big competitors I've seen around here, with no downside! If you need a server, these guys truly know what you're doing, and will respect your wallet when they do it. If you buy a server through my link, you even help support my work!
