Minecraft is a game about creativity; making grand cathedrals and redstone computers, bending the world to your will. The survival mechanics from ten years ago can feel like a chore.
Dolt Modpack How seeks to alleviate the bureaucracy of survival by simplifying progression and reducing tedium.

Getting Started
Wooden tools are gone! Stone is now the first tier in progression. To account for this, stone can now be mined with your bare hands. If you find a boulder, you can craft a stone pickaxe.
It turns out that Copper tools exist.
Blaze materials are no longer a progression bottleneck. Ender Eyes are now crafted using diamonds, and Brewing no longer require nether fortress content.
I tweaked many recipes. Check EMI if a recipe doesn't work as you think it should.
Sidequests
In Vanilla, the End Poem appears after you beat the Ender Dragon, signifying the completion of Minecraft's mainquest. Dolt Modpack How removes the end poem, because it's a modpack about Sidequests!
In Dolt Modpack, the Ender Dragon is an optional boss that you can defeat for XP, renewable diamonds, and access to the outer end islands. She is a small part of Dolt Modpack's vast interdimensional ecosystem which you can disturb if you are a terrible person! Mowzies Mobs, Species, and Galosphere also add powerful hostile entities to defeat, and none of them are more essential to progression than any other.
If you're not in the mood for violence, Exposure lets you take photographs, Farmer's Delight (and co.) lets you master cooking, and Create makes the world less rigid and lets you make windmills. Clayworks, Woodworks, Dye Depot, and Supplementaries are here to spice up your building palette.
Removals
Many legacy (and new) features encroached on the Minecraft sandbox experience™ and have since been Removed (in a remarkably Reliable manner), like Wooden Tools above.
Bowls have also been removed. They put a strain on your inventory that remanifested every time you ate. Foods served in bowls no longer require bowls in their recipes.
To balance for Geophilic’s overgrown foliage, grasses no longer drop wheat seeds unless broken with a hoe. Moss Carpets only drop when broken with shears.
The most noticeable removal is hunger! Food now gradually heals you for their nutrition. If you don’t take damage, you never need to eat.
Exploration
Mods like Atmospheric, Environmental, and Spawn adds loads of eclectic biomes to the game. Geophilic touches up vanilla biomes and brings them up to scratch with modern minecraft!
Natural Temperature ensures that biomes can be found consistently. Traveling west or eastwards leads to biomes with similar climates. Traveling north and south leads to new climates.
Abandoned mineshafts and dungeons might contain maps which lead to rare structures like Ancient Cities or Spectralibur Chambers.
Death
When you die, a Totem of Holding will appear to hold on to your items for safekeeping. They are lavaproof and will rise up from the void to meet you!
Recovery Compasses are now much cheaper, and can be locked via right click.
Inventory
All items now stack to 100! Bring a bundle to collect loose plant specimen, and a Packing Container for mining sessions in the quarry!
Backpacks can be crafted with leather and diamonds. They can double the size of your inventory if you don’t mind losing your chestplate slot.
Enchanting
Enchanting has been overhauled twice! Ancient Books, nonconsumable enchanted books, are found littered throughout the world.
XP is used for enchanting, but is easier to come by. Leveling up takes a flat 35 XP with no scaling. With this metric, it takes 20% less XP to get to level 30 than in vanilla.
Tedium
We add a ton of QOL tweaks to vanilla. Here are just a few:
- farmland can no longer be trampled.
- Bookshelves and glass drop themselves without needing silk touch.
- Stairs and slabs can be crafted in the 2x2 crafting grid.
- Blanket durability increase to every tool.
...and much more to discover on your own!
Integration
Every item in every mod has been weighed against each other and exhaustively integrated into a cohesive whole. Dolt Mod How fills in inter-mod content gaps. Content overlaps have all been dealt with.
Items have been combed over and integrated with with other mods. Modded items with conflicting use cases have been cut; Enderman Heads from supplementaries were kept over Quark’s Ender Watchers.
