An Overview
Find yourself in this new world, peppered with meteors, and many a hostile creature, perhaps your newfound abilities and skills will come to your aid and let you rise to the challenge that you will face going forth.
The goal being to avoid being a "Kitchen-Sink" pack, Evolve aims to provide a nice (and possibly heavy-handed?) upgrade to the experience. From technology, both classic and futuristic with Create and AE2, to revamping core parts of the game with End Remastered and Origins. Evolve aims to create a fresh experience whilst retaining 90% of the familiarity as a result most of the mods included aren't mandatory for progression and can be completely ignored should they not fit a chosen playstyle.
Evolve is multiplayer focused, with additions like Simple Voice Chat, Lithium, and Ferrite Core to attempt to allow a one stop shop for an interesting multiplayer session.
Even if your machine is not the strongest, Evolve should run fairly smoothly.
Despite the multiplayer focus, a singleplayer experience is not too dissimilar from its multiplayer counterpart. This is purposeful but it does leave a few of the origins borderline unplayable.
With that all being said, Evolve is very open ended, allowing you to forge your own path in this very odd world.
A New Beginning
With Origins, you become someone new, with inherited traits of those that preceded you. Whether you are as fast as a hare, as dangerous as a wither, or in tune with nature as a dryad. Origins changes the experience by giving you new abilities and boosts, or maybe make it a little more difficult and start in the nether.
Delve into Create and make massive machinations and show your industrial might to other inhabitants of your world, friendly and otherwise. With windmills, conveyer belts and why not whip out the Schematicannon! Included are a few helpful additions to expand your industrial districts such as Crafts & Additions, add a few of them new-fangled electric motors to your industries, Steam 'n' Rails, if you are making goods, then you are going to need a train to transport them, and a few more to just smooth out those rough edges.
Not good enough? Want to get in a bit of a brawl? Then dive head first into the structures around the world! When Dungeons Arise is all about high risk, high reward. Loot awaits the brave, those willing to take on the dangerous and devilish mobs that await. Maybe you should think about your armaments, and Simply Swords should have something to your taste to combat these dastardly creatures of the dark.
There is so much more to discover in this world, take the leap and evolve, make this world a better, or worse place, the choice is yours.
Notes:
- Most of the configuration is left in its standard form, apart from a few tweaks for the sake of being able to start immediately
- For some reason, some mods are being labelled as optional by PrisimMC when importing this pack. If this occurs then please check that all mods are enabled in the menu.
- Replay Mod does not seem to play nice with the pack at this time, hanging the game when you try to edit.
This pack is still in active tweaking and development!
Updates will come out for EVOLVE over time and may introduce game-breaking changes but will be indicated as follows.
- Major versions will more than likely be game-breaking unless otherwise stated.
- Minor versions will more than likely be mod updates and hefty tweaks that won't disturb the flow of play.
- Build version will only ever be things like config tweaks to help fix some issues that are only discovered after long periods of play.
