Perfected vanilla forever pack with Voxy, the best shaders, and optional "Bare Bones" trailer graphics.
The aim of this modpack is to provide the best possible vanilla-compatible, forever world-safe experience on PC and Mac. The pack doesn't change your save files, so you can keep playing your beloved worlds in any future version of unmodded Minecraft without issues. Enjoy a beautiful, fully optimized game without spending months setting it up.
⚠️ Before you play: In the Modrinth App disable ⚙️ Settings → Window → Fullscreen, ⚙️ Settings → Syncing → Sync game options, and Sync resource packs. They interfere with the modpack and stop it from working properly.
✨ Key Features
- Vanilla-compatible saves: keep playing your worlds in vanilla Minecraft after saving them with this modpack.
- Your existing worlds: open and save worlds straight from your original Minecraft folder with the "1" button.
- Original vanilla experience with several quality-of-life improvements.
- Runs well on both low- and high-end machines.
- Beautiful graphics with or without shaders (see the gallery).
- Optional "Bare Bones" trailer graphics.
Bundled shader presets
- Voxy with Atmospherics: beautiful visuals without shaders (see the gallery)
- Complementary Shaders: for the best graphics
- Bliss / Eclipse Shaders: for a classic medieval mood
Press F12 to turn shaders on or off at any time, or Ctrl + F12 to choose a shader.
🗺️ Adventure profile
Create an adventure-focused world with Dungeons and Taverns and Grim Kingdoms: select the Adventure profile under More → Data Packs during world creation. Creative mode is not available in this profile :-)
🎮 Editions
Vanilla Edition
- Vanilla world generation by default: nothing changes unless you enable an optional datapack.
- Client-side only: doesn't change your save files and is fully compatible with vanilla servers.
- Minimal gameplay changes: only small quality-of-life additions: crawl with a button press, better zoom, automatic Elytra/Chestplate swapping, and movement with an open inventory.
Creative Edition = Vanilla Edition plus…
Creative tools: Armor Stands, Axiom, Better Command Block UI, Big Sign Writer, Flashback, Head Browser, Litematica (with Schematic Preview), Name Tag Upgrade, Picture Mode, WorldEdit
Survival convenience features: A Minor Convenience, Better Happy Ghast Control, Cut Through, Debugify, Double Doors, Freecam, Gamma Utilities, Horseman, Jade, Nether Portal Fix, Placement Helpers, Reach Behind, Tweakeroo, Visible Trades, Xaero's Maps
⚙️ Setup
Everything is fully configured. Only minimal setup is required:
- Disable conflicting settings: in the Modrinth App, click the ⚙️ gear icon in the bottom-left corner and turn off Window → Fullscreen, Syncing → Sync game options, and Sync resource packs.
- Allocate memory: at least 6 GB, up to 16 GB on high-end systems. In the Modrinth App, go to ⚙️ Settings → Java and memory → Memory allocation.
- Java arguments (optional): for the least lag, try:
-XX:+UseZGC -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:+UseCompactObjectHeaders -XX:+PerfDisableSharedMem - Mouse sensitivity: after launching the game, go to Options → Controls → Mouse Settings.
- Graphics preset: Options → Resource Packs.
- Optional: on slower machines, turn off Enable Voxy in Options → Video Settings.
- Optional (Mac): for the best results, disable the Voxy mod and set Options → Video Settings → Graphics API to Prefer Vulkan, then restart the game.
Setting custom folders
- Screenshots: open Mods icon → search for Screenshot Gallery, click settings and set Custom Screenshot Directory. I use the original Minecraft folder, since that's where vanilla Minecraft saves its screenshots:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\screenshots - Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/screenshots
- Windows:
- Litematica schematics: press
B, open Configuration Menu, and search forcustomSchematicBaseDirectory. I set it to a%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Minecraftfolder so I can open any schematic from there.
🌍 Creating a New World
- I recommend opening your original Minecraft folder with the "1" button (next to Singleplayer) and creating new worlds there, so you can also open them from the official Minecraft Launcher.
- You can create a world without any extra datapacks, but I highly recommend choosing from the Vanilla Finest selection: click the More tab, then Data Packs, during world creation. The datapacks are copied into the world's save folder, so they stay fully functional even if you open the world in unmodded Minecraft.

🐛 Known Issues & Troubleshooting
- Fullscreen: Disable ⚙️ Settings → Window → Fullscreen. It overrides the pack's
options.txt, and the modpack won't work properly. - Sync settings: Disable ⚙️ Settings → Syncing → Sync game options and Sync resource packs, as they can interfere with the modpack.
- Euphoria Patches shows error messages in the End dimension. These can be safely ignored and will be fixed in the next version.
- Iris has a rare bug that can cause crashes. If it happens, disable shaders, load the world, then turn shaders back on.
