Platinum-FPS:
In simple terms,Platinum-FPS is an optimization modpack built for very old, low-end, or unsupported PCs. It focuses on improving FPS, reducing stuttering, and making modern Minecraft playable on hardware that struggles with the latest versions. If you're not sure what all the technical terms below mean, don't worry—the pack is designed to work out of the box.
Platinum-FPS is a PERFORMANCE ONLY PACK designed to overcome severe low-end hardware bottlenecks through advanced rendering and engine-level optimizations. Rather than relying solely on surface-level tweaks, the pack leverages modern graphics pipeline techniques like Direct State Access (DSA) buffer uploads, Multi-Draw Indirect (MDI) rendering via Mercurizer, and asynchronous CPU path-tracing via Entity Culling. These low-level modifications bypass inefficient legacy OpenGL overhead, drastically reducing GPU driver draw-call bottlenecks and allowing older integrated GPUs to stream geometry smoothly .
To maximize throughput on low-core CPUs, the pack restructures Minecraft’s internal execution thread model. By utilizing Async for multi-threaded chunk generation and parallel entity processing, world logic is decoupled from the main render thread to prevent execution locks. Combined with optimized memory layouts from FerriteCore , aggressive garbage collection reduction via ModernFix , and internal resolution decoupled UI rendering through RenderScale , Platinum-FPS maintains exceptionally tight 7ms–15ms frametime consistency even on low-power dual-core processors .
Tested on absolute old hardware for minecraft:
Tested on ASUS c202sa (Intel Celeron N3060 CPU with Intel HD Graphics 400):
- 60-100+ FPS consistent gameplay
- ~9ms - 10ms smooth frametimes
- Minimal micro-stuttering during chunk rendering.
⚡ Key Features
Rendering Optimizations : Utilizes Sodium to optimize graphics rendering and improve frame consistency across different hardware setups.
Shader Support : Built-in Iris Shaders integration allows running custom shader packs natively without requiring OptiFine.
Engine & Memory Management : Incorporates Lithium, FerriteCore, and ModernFix to lower RAM allocation, speed up chunk loading with Seamless chunks , and reduce background logic overhead.
Geometry Culling : Features Entity Culling, More Culling, and ImmediatelyFast to lessen rendering load from hidden entities and models.
Underrated mods : RenderScale eliminates fill-rate bottlenecks on weak integrated GPUs by allowing players to downscale the 3D world's rendering resolution while keeping HUD and UI text sharp at native screen resolution. Mercurizer acts as an aggressive low-spec extension for Sodium, running an automated hardware benchmark on startup to auto-tune chunk upload budgets, strip out complex GLSL shader overhead, and minimize shared VRAM consumption for Intel HD and Vega integrated graphics. Finally, SeamlessChunks bypasses Vanilla's restrictive chunk packet limits by accelerating the server-to-client pipeline and prioritizing chunks directly in the player's line of sight and movement direction—drastically cutting down world loading times and chunk generation stutters.

⚠️ IMPORTANT : What to Expect on Ultra-Low-End Hardware
To get 80–110+ FPS on dual-core CPUs and legacy integrated graphics (like Intel Celeron or old Intel HD Graphics), this modpack relies on smart performance trade-offs. Please read these two quick notes for the best experience:
-
Give Your CPU a Few Minutes to Load Chunks On 2-core processors or slow hard drives, world generation is very heavy. When you first join a world or server, stay AFK/idle for 2 to 3 minutes. This lets your CPU finish rendering surrounding chunks in the background so you can play with smooth, stutter-free frametimes.
-
Understanding How RenderScale Works To eliminate fill-rate bottlenecks on weak integrated GPUs, Platinum-FPS utilizes RenderScale. This downscales the internal 3D world resolution while keeping the HUD, UI text, and menus perfectly crisp at your screen's native resolution. If you notice the game looks a bit softer, you can adjust or disable this anytime in your Video Settings, but keeping it downscaled is the secret to massive FPS gains on potato PCs!
🛠️ Compatibility
The modpack contains only client-side modifications and does not alter vanilla game rules, block properties, or server interactions. It can be safely used on standard multiplayer servers and SMPs.
NOTE : Includes Nvidium for modern NVIDIA GPUs (GTX 16+ / RTX). On AMD, Intel, or older NVIDIA hardware, it automatically disables itself and runs standard Sodium(mercurizer) with zero impact on stability.
Recommended settings for optimal performance on after 2016 Setups:
-
Adaptive VSync in video settings.
-
Set render distance to 12-16 chunks depending on your hardware.
-
Use Complementary or BSL shaders for the best visual experience or disable them if you want FPS.
-
Configure the renderscale through Video settings as lower the scale is the more FPS you get but with quality loss in textures.
-
Set Booster MOD Preset to Extreme.
-
Set particles to decreased.
-
Keep the rendering API Opengl if your device is older than 2016 or is a chromebook having MRchromebox linux as it often has incomplete Vulkan drivers so that causes serious performance drop.
-
Stop using resource packs which are more than 16x if you have extremely slow hardware.
-
keep updating the mods yourself
-
if you dont have modrinth launcher to use mrpack go to Mrpacktozip or Moddermore because there you can extract the mod list from the mrpack file and download the mods zip file or individual mods.
-
if you have a potato pc or you have dual core processor or just an old laptop then whenever open a world or join a server, keep the System idle /AFk for 2 to 3 minutes so that everything is rendered out properly and you can have a lag free experience .
🛠️ Recommended Settings for Pre-2016 Low-End Systems
- VSync: Enable Adaptive VSync in Video Settings.
- Render Distance: Set to 6–8chunks (lower to 4-5 on Celeron / Intel HD 400).
- RenderScale: Downscale the 3D world resolution to 82 percent for massive FPS gains while keeping the UI crisp.
- Particles: Set to Decreased or Minimal.
- Graphics API: Keep rendering set to OpenGL on pre-2016 devices or Chromebooks running Linux (Vulkan drivers on older integrated GPUs can cause severe performance drops).
- Resource Packs: Avoid resource packs higher than 16x resolution.
- World Loading Tip: On weak dual-core CPUs, stay AFK for 2–3 minutes after joining a world to let chunks settle.
-
AGAIN you dont have to do any of this if you have a system which is strong enough or meets the requirments of minecraft given below:
Recommended:
- 1080p @ 60 FPS, Fancy preset
- Windows 11 64-bit, macOS 14+, or Linux 64-bit
- x64, ARM64
- 16 GB RAM
- Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 5600, or Apple M2 Pro
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, Intel Arc A580, or Apple M2 Pro. 6 GB VRAM.
Minimum:
- 1080p @ 30 FPS, Fast preset
- Windows 10 64-bit, Windows on ARM, macOS 12+, or Linux 64-bit
- x64, ARM64
- 8 GB (with discrete GPU) or 12 GB (with integrated GPU)
- Intel Core i3-10100, AMD Ryzen 3 3100, Qualcomm Snapdragon X, or Apple M1 (4 physical cores minimum)
- Vulkan 1.3 capable GPU with at least 2 GB VRAM. NVIDIA GTX 950 or newer, AMD Radeon RX 460 or newer, Intel Arc A310 or newer (discrete) or Intel i5-6400 or newer (integrated iGPU), Apple M1 or newer, or Qualcomm Snapdragon X.
Though i do think if you just want minecraft then these specs are just overkill and you can definitely run mc smoothely with enough mods and optimization, most important thing in running MC 26.x is the OS and the opengl version/Vulkan version , though the cpu and gpu are still very important. This MODPACK is designed for this exactproblem as a fix to these issues of compatibility as the benchmarks are done on devices which dont support the minimum requirments:)
