Ultimate Vanilla+ is a Fabric modpack made for players who love vanilla Minecraft but want a little more from the game. It adds new terrain, better visuals, more sounds, useful quality-of-life features and performance mods without changing the original feel of Minecraft too much.

🌍 A world with more to explore

One of the main things I wanted was a world that feels fresh, even if you have played Minecraft for years.

Terralith, Geophilic, Incendium and Nullscape add new terrain, biomes and places to explore across the Overworld, Nether and End.

Dungeons & Taverns also improves many of the structures in the game. Ancient cities, desert temples, jungle temples, mineshafts, nether fortresses, ocean monuments, pillager outposts, strongholds, swamp huts and woodland mansions get their own changes.

This means there is more to discover while exploring, and travelling around the world feels more interesting. The game still feels like vanilla Minecraft, just with more places to visit.

⚡ Performance matters too

Adding lots of mods is great, but nobody wants the game to become laggy because of them. That is why performance was an important part of this modpack.

Sodium, Sodium Extra and Lithium help improve rendering and general performance. FerriteCore and ModernFix help manage memory usage, while BadOptimizations, ImmediatelyFast, EntityCulling, MoreCulling, AsyncParticles and ScalableLux provide further optimisations.

Dynamic FPS reduces resource usage when Minecraft is running in the background, and FastQuit helps the game close faster.

The goal is to make the modpack enjoyable to play without adding unnecessary performance problems.

🎨 Better visuals and atmosphere

If you enjoy using shaders, Iris is included. You can use shaders if you want to, but they are completely optional.

There are also several mods that improve the game's visuals and atmosphere without making it look too different from vanilla Minecraft.

Better Clouds, CoolRain and Visuality improve the look of clouds, weather and particles.
ParticleEffects, Effectual, LambDynamicLights and Wakes add more visual effects, lighting and movement.
Sound Physics Remastered, Sounds Edge and Presence Footsteps improve the sounds you hear while exploring the world.
3D Skin Layers, Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features add more detail to player skins and mob models.
Continuity and Sodium Shadowy Path Blocks add extra visual details to blocks and connected textures.

These changes may look small individually, but together they make the world feel more alive.

🎒 Quality of life

I have also included several mods that make everyday Minecraft gameplay easier without completely changing how the game works.

JEI, Just Enough Resources and Just Enough Professions help you check recipes, item drops and villager trades. Jade gives information about the block or entity you are looking at, while AppleSkin shows useful hunger and saturation information.

Inventory management is easier with Mouse Tweaks, Inventory Management, Easy Shulker Boxes, Crafting Tweaks, Stack Refill and Quick Pack. Traveler's Backpack provides extra storage for your adventures.

For navigation, Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map help you keep track of where you are, which is especially useful with all the new terrain.

There are also a few mods to make the game more comfortable to play:

Shoulder Surfing gives you another way to view your character.
Not Enough Animations adds more player animations.
Zoomify lets you zoom in on things from a distance.
Chat Heads and Chat Animation improve the chat experience.
Controlling, Searchables and Mod Menu make controls, searching and mod settings easier to manage.
Dynamic Crosshair, Immersive Hotbar and Status Effect Bars add useful interface improvements.

The idea is not to make the game easier, but to remove some of the small annoyances that you notice while playing.

📥 How to install

You can use the Modrinth App or another launcher that supports .mrpack files.

Download the latest release.
Import the .mrpack file into your launcher.
Launch Minecraft.
Enjoy playing!

No manual mod installation is needed. Just make sure you use a Minecraft version and loader supported by the release you download.
