Grown from the remains of a cookie-cutter vanilla+ modpack, Inquisitive aims to be a unique, tailored experience- not just compared to vanilla, but modpacks in general. It's foundations laid in Sinytra Connector, which builds a bridge across the Forge & Fabric loader gap, Inquisitive urges you to ask questions; find your niche, discover lore of varying breadth, and learn about everything the pack has to offer that appeals to how you want to play.

Content

Notoriously vague in the past, Inquisitive drives itself with a number of inspirations. From Worlds Adrift to Outer Wilds, Valheim to old vanilla, old modded Minecraft to new. Expect to find something to appeal to you in every session, and don't expect to find them all. We now have a singular drive: asking questions.

Some of the modpack's highlights cultivate various hobbies. Create for engineers and more active builders, Scriptor Magicae for linguists and puzzle solvers, Etched and midi instruments for musicians, Exposure for photographers, Zetter for painters, Ad Astra for astronomers, lore for writers- to fill every possible niche with depth and make it worthy of exploring with friends.

But with all of these possibilities and chances to obtain incredible power, reworks to difficulty are due. Hunger, mobs, a more impacting environment, all these things will question your process, but make it all the more rewarding.

If you ever get lost, it's encouraged to attempt to figure out the game’s systems (many of which custom configured) the discord has links to a number of important wikis!

Community

Another drive of Inquisitive is the community. Whether that be the server, our own community, or the larger modding and minecraft community as a whole- A good portion of it's intention is to maintain a good one.

You'll see a number of familiar names lighting up the modlist if you're fond of the modding community, such as Su5eD, MehVahdJukaar, Alex, Yung, Ordana, Ninni, Keksuccino, Samolego, Unascribed, Vectorwing, Orcinus, Fuzs, and many, many more. If not, you'll see the mods themselves- or both. From the heavyhitter entities of Alex's mods, to Yung's monopoly on structures, the capabilities that Keksuccino provides to modpack authors to jazzify their menus, Vectorwing's almost necessary rework at this point of foodstuffs that I can't live without playing-- the list goes on. And this is not even to mention the backend authors, who are the backbones of this entire project from collapsing in a java class short-circuiting mess. Taking the time to learn and appreciate the work of these developers is worth it.

Inquisitive itself aims to highlight these people's work, and the work of our own community- you'll see guidebooks written by members, photos in this very modrinth page, or the pack loading screen, submitted- you yourself can with relative ease. We'll transcribe your books, insert your photos, and if you have anything else you'd like to contribute- just ask!
